JOB SUMMARY: Perform general duty police work involving the protection of life and property; the enforcement of laws and ordinances; prevention and investigation of crimes and maintenance of order and positively engage with community members on an assigned shift. Use de-escalation techniques to increase likelihood of compliance. Must be able to qualify for the ACCESS Certification POLICE OFFICER - LATERAL: At least 12 months experience, within the last 36 months, as a full-time, paid, commissioned Police Officer. The 12 months of experience will be waived if the applicant has successfully completed a state law enforcement academy that is recognized by the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission (WSCJTC) and was released due to budgetary constraints and eligible for rehire by that former agency. Lateral Police Officers with experience in Washington state must have successfully passed a WSCJTC Basic Law Enforcement Academy or its equivalent recognized by the WSCJTC. Lateral Police Officers with experience not attained at an agency in Washington State are required to pass the WSCJTC Basic Law Enforcement Equivalency Course. Requirements Minimum Qualifications * High school diploma, GED, or equivalent credential. * 2 years of experience in security or law enforcement related work, including military experience. * First Aid/CPR/AED certification or the ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire. * Valid Washington State Drivers License or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire. * Ability to successfully pass comprehensive background investigation, including: a. Ability to obtain and maintain clearance for access to the Homeland Security Information Network (HSIN) and Washington State Fusion Center (WSFC) within 30 days of hire. b. Ability to obtain and maintain fingerprint clearance from the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office, including FBI fingerprint screening within 30 days of hire. c. Must not have any of the following to meet minimum qualifications of a background check. i. Must have no felony convictions within 7 years of date or hire. ii. 1 or more traffic crime convictions in last 5 years (DWI, Suspended, Reckless, etc). iii. Suspension of driver's license within past 5 years. iv. 3 or more moving violations in past 3 years. v. 2 or more at-fault accidents in past 3 years. vi.
