The Site Security Officer is responsible for maintaining the safety, security, and controlled access of a large-scale construction project site. Officers will perform access control, patrols, inspections, and enforcement of site security procedures in accordance with client requirements, site policies, and applicable regulations. Positions are available for both armed and unarmed officers, depending on assignment and qualifications. Key Responsibilities: * Provide continuous security coverage for an active construction site on a 24/7 basis. * Control access to the project site by verifying contractor-issued badges and government-issued photo identification. * Maintain accurate sign-in and sign-out logs, including badge or ID number, name, date, and time of entry and exit. * Conduct vehicle inspections for all vehicles entering and exiting the site. * Perform searches of personal bags, backpacks, and lunch containers when personnel are exiting the site, as required. * Conduct routine and random roving patrols of the site during construction and non-construction hours using company-issued vehicles or ATVs. * Respond promptly to requests to open or secure access points throughout the site. * Issue temporary badges and assist personnel with access-related issues. * Monitor site activity and report suspicious behavior, safety concerns, or policy violations. * Maintain constant communication via mobile phone as part of the Site Emergency Response Plan. * Operate body-worn cameras in accordance with company policy and client requirements. * Wear and maintain a professional, matching uniform that clearly identifies the individual as security personnel. * Work collaboratively with Site Supervisors, Team Leaders, and Project Management to ensure effective security operations. Badging Compliance: Ensure that all personnel entering the site have their badges and are properly scanned in to verify their identity and maintain accurate worker headcount records for customers. Parking Management: Provide parking passes to appropriate personnel and monitor parking pass compliance across designated parking areas. Visitor & Delivery Management: Document all visitors entering and leaving the site and receive all deliveries, creating written documentation of the same for the customer. Customer & Worker Support: Provide support in all areas of access control including worker registration and badging, tech troubleshooting, visitor and delivery logs, and parking management. Ad hoc responsibilities: Assist with ad-hoc access control responsibilities to support our customers for one-time and ongoing access control needs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Supervises inmates in living areas and recreational activities. Supervises inmates and visitors in visitation areas. Serves as control center officer, coordinates and monitors inmate movements, conducts counts, and provides emergency response. Serves as mailroom, field tower, medical security, perimeter security, and/or gate officer as required. Provides security in treatment activities and supervises labor crews in the kitchen and other specialized areas. Ensures prompt and appropriate assistance to inmates in the event of injury, illness, and emotional trauma. Prepares reports and maintains daily logs as required. Initiates disciplinary reports. Conduct shakedown for contraband materials, either individually or as part of a specialized team. Promotes facility cleanliness and reports need for maintenance and/or repairs. Serves as a member of special teams to respond. Performs a variety of marginal duties not listed, to be determined and assigned as needed. Required Knowledge Skills/Abilities Must be representative of worthwhile qualities to which an inmate can identify. Must be emotionally stable, understanding, and philosophically attuned to the objective of the facility. Language skills and reasoning ability are crucial to success in this position. Interacts daily with offenders and staff members while providing security for the facility. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of training courses and on- the- job training as required by facility training standards. Experience in correctional setting is highly desirable. Hiring Bonus: $1000 after on- the- job training and $1000 after 6 months of service.
