The Security Guard is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment. The primary duty is to prevent and deter unauthorized access, theft, vandalism, and other potential security threats. The Security Guard will conduct routine patrols of the premises and enforce rules and regulations to ensure the safety of people and property.
Position Responsibilities:
Patrol and secure assigned premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of work rules as well as identify risks to the client.
Thoroughly examine doors, windows, and gates to ensure proper function and security.
Effectively communicate premise rules and regulations to all personnel and visitors to the property.
Report any facility issues such as fire/safety hazards, malfunctioning door/gates.
Request emergency personnel for high-risk situations such as persons engaged in suspicious or criminal activity.
Monitor personnel flow & surveillance cameras and inspect property.
Escort discharged personnel, trespassers, and other unwelcome parties off the premises.
Represent Apex Sentry with a professional appearance and demeanor.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Current valid drivers license with an excellent driving record.
24 hour Security Guard Certification required.
Ability to handle the physical demands of the job, e.g., able to stand or patrol on foot for long periods of time in all weather conditions.
Minimum of 6 months previous security experience, law enforcement, or other related field, required.
Familiarity with security equipment.
Ability to work in various environments such as cold weather, rain, snow, or heat.
Substantial attention to detail 100% accuracy for all paperwork/reports.
Demonstrated ability to product handwritten reports that are legible, detailed, clear, and concise, with exception grammar and spelling.
Strong situational awareness and observational skills.
Ability to speak clearly with authority while remaining calm and respectful in high-pressure situations.
Submit to a State & Federal criminal background search. No Felonies.
Able to work every Saturday and Sunday from 6am - 1pm or 10pm to 6am.
Proven ability to respond to routine and emergency situations at client sites with composure and efficiency.

Supervise, protect, instruct, train, counsel and evaluate employees. Responsible for the care, custody and adherence to the rules and regulations of inmates/detainees/USMS assigned to specific housing and working areas.
Supervise and direct searches for contraband and provide security.
Supervise and provide custody and security of inmates/detainees/USMS including.
