Ensuring training and compliance guidelines are met as outlined by AFS and other agencies regulating the customer/market. Communicating daily with the Security Supervisor regarding new Security Issues or changes that need to be considered or implemented.     Responsive recruiter Applied Optimization (AO) Job Title: Assistant Facility Security Officer (FSO) Reports to: Company President & CEO FLSA Status: Part-Time (Non-Exempt) Department: Security Position Objective: To provide support for the commercial and government contracts activities at Applied Optimization, a small business, government contractor working in R&D Position Description: The FSO shall o Support the FSO to ensure the safety and security of staff, visitors and associates, valuable materials and sensitive business documents pertaining to AO. o Support the FSO in maintaining security measures within the facility. o Remain current in applicable training courses and ensure the safety and security training of the company staff. o Support the maintenance of a facility specific standard operating procedures (SOP). The SOP will include those portions of the applicable NISPOM/DCIDs, as well as any unique requirements levied by the company president or the contracting government agencies with which the company does business. Essential Functions: Assist in maintaining proper safeguards to maintain the facility security clearance of a possessing facility Support the FSO to formulate, implement, and maintain security plans and procedures Provide support to ensure the company meets its contractual security obligations and protect customer information Ensure company SOPs meet government contract security requirements Maintain and utilize the IsI Security portal. Keep the information on the portal up to date Support the FSO to develop and maintain a company security education program for establishing SOP that address cyber security and insider threat as it relates to classified, sensitive but unclassified, and company proprietary information Support the FSO to develop and maintain a company security education program for cleared personnel and users of the AIS to ensure the proper procedures and protocols are followed when working with classified materials Process employees for security clearances Maintain liaison with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency representative Provide guidance to the FSO to maintain system for the receipt, control, accountability, transmittal, incorporation and destruction of classified material Provide guidance to the FSO for broadcasting security requirements and ensuring compliance with government regulations pertaining to the protection of classified material and sensitive but unclassified material for multiple contracts Support the FSO in investigating security violations/infractions, submit required reports to appropriate government authority, and perform remedial training Duties are subject to change as determined by the company needs over time Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree Prior experience in the FSO position for possessing facility Thorough knowledge of National Industrial Security Program and NISPOM operating manual Working knowledge of Information System Security Manager functions Effective oral and written communication skills Basic computer and software skills Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR) Citizenship/Security Clearance Requirements: U.S. citizen.
