We are currently seeking Part Time Security Assistants to support a contract at Hill AFB, Utah. The Security Assistant will provide continuous security support to ensure the safety and integrity of all personnel, assets, and operations within the contracted area.
Key Responsibilities:
Protection and Surveillance:
Guard and protect all government personnel, information, documentation, materials, buildings, equipment, property, and operations from unauthorized access, theft, and/or sabotage.
Monitor all entry and exit control points into classified spaces within assigned facilities.
Conduct continuous surveillance to detect and respond to security breaches.
Access Control:
Implement and manage all access control procedures at entry desks, including the identification and verification of personnel and visitors.
Issue appropriate badges to personnel and visitors after thorough review of visitor requests and applicable background information in accordance with established procedures.
Perform 100% hands-off inspections of all hand-carried items at entry points to ensure prohibited items are not introduced to or removed from the facility.
Emergency Response and Incident Management:
Respond to and assist Government and Contractor employees, visitors, and emergency response personnel during security and safety-related situations.
Cooperate with investigative agencies and law enforcement in connection with potential or suspected violations of law against the Government, including preserving evidence in accordance with established procedures.
Assist in preliminary inquiries related to the loss or theft of Government and personal property, and other security incidents within their areas of responsibility.
Monitor and respond to security alarms from intrusion detection systems and other protection devices.
Facility Monitoring:
Monitor fire protection systems and ensure unrestricted access by the Fire Department and medical teams.
Respond to building conditions and alarm systems such as gas, fire, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.
Report incidents to required Government personnel and local off-site agencies when necessary.
Knowledge and Qualifications:

Relevant work experience
Security Clearance Level: Secret, Tier 3-Active or the ability to obtain (LSI can assist in getting you a clearance).
US Citizenship
Successfully pass a federal drug and background screen
Preferred Skills and Expertise:
Knowledge and experience utilizing DoD approved security systems, such as Defense Information Security System (DISS), National Industrial Security System (NISS), and NISP Central Access Information Security System (NCAISS).
Experience working with Department of Defense agencies.

**What You'll Contribute**
The Principal Specialist, Corporate Security will be responsible for supporting the execution of security protocols and ensuring adherence to security policies and procedures. The receptionist/security officer will serve as the first point of contact for visitors, creating a welcoming and professional atmosphere. Greet guests, employees and staff with a friendly demeanor, ensuring they feel valued and well attended. Answer and direct incoming calls efficiently, providing accurate information and forwarding messages as needed. Manage visitor check-in and check-out procedures, ensuring security protocols are followed. Issue visitor badges and maintain a log of all visitors for safety and accountability. Work closely with other staff members to ensure smooth operations and support team objectives. Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving reception services.
**What You'll Do**
+ Assist in the enforcement of corporate security policies, protocols, and procedures.
+ Support the execution of security measures, including access control systems, surveillance systems, and physical security protocols.
+ Review Logbook, Temporary Post Orders and Revisions to Original Post Orders sections of post orders.
+ Review any equipment and keys (if any) and ensure that it is in good condition.
+ Monitor access control & VMS.
+ Maintain a daily Security Officer Report and save in the guard force shared drive.
+ Answer lobby desk phone and provide customer assistance.
+ Issue visitor, contractor, and temporary access badges. Screen all visitors.
+ Contact the Security Operations Center (SOC) for customer request approvals (desk unlocks, etc.)
+ Maintain visitor logs.
+ Assist with basic inquiries and provide information about the company services.

**What You Have**

Provide security screening to prevent the introduction of weapons, explosives and other deadly or dangerous items into the air transportation system by means of available screening equipment such as hand-held metal detectors and physical inspections. The screening provides security for the aircraft, airports, air carriers and staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. High School diploma/G.E.D. or equivalent.
2. Previous airline experience preferred.
3. Previous experience in security, military, customer service preferred.
4. Must be a U.S. citizen.
5. Must be 18 years of age or older.
6. Must have reliable telephone and transportation.
B. PERSONAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Treat all information as confidential.
2. Possess the tact to deal with all levels of situations, client representatives, employees and the public.
3. Must be able to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

4. Must conduct physical searches and take proper action upon detection of a questionable or dangerous item.
5. Conduct an inspection of food, sealed items, beverages, serving utensils, supplies, liquor and duty-free items.
6. Focus on external appearances- appropriate weights- signs of tampering with packaging, insertion of inappropriate items.
7. Inspection of food carts and supply trolleys must include side panels, doors, undercarriages, and dry ice compartments for items that do not belong. Searching under carts/trolleys/trays may be accomplished with a mirror.
8. Inspection must take place inside the catering facility or on the loading dock, and must be conducted to the extent permitted by local laws and hygiene standards.
9. Search the inside of the vehicles for weapons, explosives and other deadly or dangerous items just prior to loading catering carts.
10. Escort all catering carts from the time the monitoring/inspection is completed until the carts are loaded onto the transport vehicle.
11. After concluding the search and loading, close and seal all carts with tamper evident security seals.
12. The air carrier or representative meeting the carts at the aircraft will inspect the seal for signs of tampering prior to breaking it.
13. In the event a seal shows signs of tampering or are discovered broken, the suspect cart must be searched for weapons, explosives, and other dangerous devices prior to loading on aircraft.
14. All seals must be stored in a locked container and protected from unauthorized access.
15. Notify or ensure immediate Law Enforcement Officer and/or Airline Ground Security Coordinator notification when necessary.
16. Ensure safe handling of dangerous or deadly weapons/objects discovered until arrival of the Law Enforcement Officer.
17. Contact Law Enforcement Officer if items of contraband (illegal items) are discovered during the screening process. Maintain control of items until arrival of the L.E.O.
18. Report all Government tests, real weapons, injuries and other major incidents to supervisor immediately.
19. Keep supervisor informed of needs and problems in assigned areas, maintain cleanliness of immediate work area and report maintenance needs.
20. Project a positive image and respond to inquiries from clients, staff and public in a courteous manner.
21. Attend meetings and in-services as required.
22. Utilize appropriate communications channels and maintain records, reports and files as required.
23. Must be in proper uniform or business attire as directed by company officials.
24. Identification badges must always be visible.
25. Adhere to company policies and procedures and participate in achievement of company objectives.
26. Utilize company and client equipment, supplies and resources in a conscientious, cost effective manner.
27. Perform other duties as requested.

Responsibilities
Building Security and Safety: Secure UMFA buildings to prevent theft and property damage by locking and unlocking doors, turning off lights and electrical devices after hours, and applying preventive measures to minimize hazards. Ensure guests understand and follow museum rules to protect the UMFA's collection.
Patrols and Surveillance: Conduct regular patrols of the UMFA, inspecting doors, windows, and controlled spaces to check for damage to the collection, building maintenance needs, and any other changes to the environment. Camera and security systems monitoring is also a part of daily surveillance.
Emergency Response and Support: Assist the Fire Department and First Responders during emergencies by unlocking buildings for entry, helping with crowd control, applying first-aid, and contacting University Police when necessary.
Customer Service and Community Support: Work closely with other front of house teams, management, and the public to ensure a secure, friendly, and welcoming experience for all visitors to UMFA, fostering a collaborative and positive atmosphere.
