About the role Anza is seeking a Director of Process Engineering and Optimization to lead the creation and strategic direction of the Process Engineering and Optimization function. This role will establish the department as a critical internal service organization to other departments within the company. The primary mission is to drive the adoption and implementation of end-to-end process automation and orchestration to ensure repeatability, performance visibility, auditability, and scalability across all aspects of the growing mortgage insurance platform, ensuring alignment with Anza's overarching business goals while maintaining regulatory compliance, operational control, and cost discipline. Process Orchestration and Automation: Lead the successful adoption and implementation of end-to-end process automation and orchestration initiatives, creatively redesigning and optimizing procedures across all business functions. Ensure automated workflows meet stringent requirements for repeatability, auditability, performance visibility, and scalability. Control-by-Design & Audit Readiness: Embed control requirements, separation of duties, exception handling, and QC touchpoints into process design. Ensure workflows are defensible under PMIERs, GSE expectations, SOC 2, state insurance regulation, and internal risk governance. Requirements and Execution: Implement a strong operational mindset and requirements gathering capabilities to effectively translate Anza's business strategy into actionable process plans and engineering requirements. Operational Efficiency & Scale Economics: Design productivity models, unit cost benchmarks, straight-through-processing targets, and cycle-time standards. Identify bottleneck drivers and engineer permanent elimination strategies. Serve as the central authority for cross-functional workflow alignment and handoff architecture. KPIs: Establish enterprise performance reporting tied to automation, throughput, quality, and cost metrics. Qualifications Minimum Education BSE in a process design field such as Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical, or Systems Engineering, or BS/BA in Operations Research or Computer Science/IT Preferred Education MBA with concentration/specialization in Operations Management, MS in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality/Reliability Engineering or Computer Science. Minimum Experience Proven success leading cross-functional transformation initiatives. Deep hands-on experience with workflow management systems in a corporate environment is a must.
