Stand for extended periods (8-10 hours per day) and perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds. xperience and Education 5+ years of experience in the telecommunications industry with related experience in construction and tower work. 2-3 years of verifiable experience splicing and testing fiber optic cables for dark fiber providers (e.g., Zayo), meeting stringent quality and performance standards. 3+ years of hands-on experience using Fujikura fusion splicing machines for high-count fiber splicing (864ct, 1728ct, 3456ct). 3+ years of experience performing OTDR and OLTS testing with EXFO testing equipment. 2+ years of experience producing FastReporter reports for network documentation. Qualifications & Skills Proven ability to perform mid-sheath (ring-cut) splicing and live fiber network splicing with minimal service disruption. Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving issues on live/active network fiber. Familiarity with cable pulling, cabinet bolting, basket tray installation, and scissor lift operation (preferred). Strong written and oral communication skills for effective team and client interactions. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) for documentation and reporting. Strong interpersonal skills and a strong work ethic. Ability to pass a clean background check and drug screen. Valid driver's license required. Fluency in English for effective communication. Certification in fiber optic splicing or testing (e.g., FOA CFOT, BICSI, or equivalent) preferred. Prior experience with major telecommunications carriers or dark fiber providers beyond Zayo preferred.
