Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, & Experience
Must have at least (2) years of relevant Plumbing field experience.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Must have and provide a clean DMV report covering the past (3) years.
Must understand and comply with all safety and OSHA requirements.
Authorized to work in the United States.
Must be capable of effectively speaking and writing in the English language.
Knowledge of plumbing codes
Capable of working alone or on a team.
Communicate effectively with customers regarding technical issues.
Plumbing Trade school or college courses a plus.
Must understand the fundamentals of plumbing sewer systems, water heaters, sump pumps, recirc pumps, thermal expansion tanks, backflow prevention, soldering, hydro-jetter and drain machine operation, etc.
Must understand electrical troubleshooting.

About The Role:
The General ServiceTechnician role is full time or part-time and is an hourly position based on needs of the business. The General ServiceTechnician is responsible for performing basic routine vehicle repair and maintenance services in accordance with company standards and manufacturer specifications. This position is expected to deliver exceptional 5 Star service to our guests, through effective communication of vehicle issues and proposed solutions while ensuring that guest expectations for time commitments and quality are consistently met.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
Accurately perform basic vehicle services and repairs effectively and efficiently in accordance with Monro standards of operation.
Tire Services - perform wheel removal, balancing, patch/plug repairs, changing, mounting, installation and TPMS service and repair.
Vehicle Services - perform lubrications, oil changes, basic maintenance (e.g.: bulb, wiper blade and filter replacements, etc.), battery testing and installations.
Consistently complete Monro's Courtesy Inspection process, on every guest vehicle, identifying, documenting, and communicating additional needed services and repairs.
Assist in inventory management to include pulling tires and parts, unloading and stocking inventory.
Assist with all general store duties, ensuring the store is in excellent condition and maintained to Monro standards for cleanliness and consistently in guest ready condition.
Consistently perform service(s) in accordance with Monro's safety standards including but not limited to Monro's Wheel Torque, Oil safety and compliance procedures.
Test drive vehicles in accordance with Monro's Road Test policy, including consistently utilizing our dedicated test drive routes, while observing all local traffic and safety laws.
Understand and adhere to company policies and procedures, Governmental standards including environmental codes and ANSI/OSHA standards. Consistent use of all required safety standards set forth in training and policies and procedures.
Maintain technical knowledge and capabilities to ensure proficiency through the timely completion of all required Monro University training courses and modules.
Operate, utilize, and maintain all equipment in a safe manner in accordance with Monro and equipment manufacturer guidelines including but not limited to lifts, welders, brake lathes, etc.
Perform other duties as assigned and required.
Compensation: The hourly range for this role is $17 - $19 This role is eligible for additional compensation and incentives. Pay will be determined based on experience level.

What you will do
Under minimal supervision, conducts preventive maintenance, repair, installation, and commissioning and general servicing of systems (including detailed troubleshooting of systems). Responsible for high levels of customer satisfaction through direct, on site, customer interface. Trains the customer in control systems operations. Delivers manuals and documentation to the customer for training needs as required.
Provides mentorship for certification of Controls Technicians and ServiceTechnicians on complex building automation systems. Coaches, supports and trains the technical workforce on non-complex, non-critical equipment.
Compiles job documentation, such as certificate of completion, customer training form, training certificates and punch lists.
Conducts extensive self-study (reading, research and practice) to improve and maintain technical proficiency in company's product lines. Completes certifications as required by the company.
Other duties related to the installing, commissioning and servicing of building controls and facilities management systems and energy management systems, as assigned.
Assists in the design and configuration of building control systems as defined by the contract documents. Creates flow diagrams, sequence of operations, and bill of material, network layouts and electrical schematics as required.
Assists in developing and testing software programs necessary to operate the system per the project requirements' intent.
Compiles and/or completes project as built and close-out documentation.
Assists in the coordination and creation of necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation.
Selects, orders, and tracks the delivery of materials for assigned projects. Coordinates factory-mounting processes to meet factory and project schedule.
Assists in the loading and commissioning of all system and network-level controllers as required. Assists in validation of complete system functionality and troubleshoots problems with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation.

About the Job:
The Facilities Management Department is seeking a skilled HVAC Controls Technician who demonstrates technical proficiency and a commitment to excellence in system optimization and reliability. This opportunity offers the chance to contribute to a dynamic environment where precision and innovation support the comfort and safety of the SAN traveler.
This role plays a critical part in maintaining and troubleshooting HVAC systems to ensure peak performance across the San Diego Airport campus. The position calls for journey-level experience, strong mechanical expertise, and creative problem-solving abilities, paired with a keen eye for detail.
What You'll Do:
Conducts installation, preventive maintenance, inspections, adjustments and repairs of electrical and mechanical problems involving heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems, building automation controls, thermostats, boilers, belts, pumps, filters, valves, motors, fans, pumps, compressors, condensers, chillers, and cooling towers.
Operates computer-based building management systems. Coordinates and inspects work performed by contractors engaged in HVAC systems and equipment installation. Maintains and repairs HVAC systems. Operates hand and power tools, vacuum pump, and test equipment.
Monitors and operates the airport's central chilled water and heating hot water systems; monitors and responds to HVAC related issues; troubleshoots and solves problems associated with HVAC systems and equipment.
Prepares cost estimates and orders materials; maintains records of work plans and logs, interprets and works from sketches, drawings, blueprints and specifications; completes work consistently with relevant codes.
Provides work direction and trains other maintenance personnel, assists with cooperative assignments.
Operates and drives Authority vehicles, transports equipment to maintain and troubleshoot HVAC systems throughout the Authority campus. Performs other duties as assigned.

Licenses, Certificates, and Special Requirements :
Maintain a valid driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the Authority's vehicle insurance policy.
Successful completion of a fingerprint-based background investigation, training, and testing required for employment and operation of Authority and San Diego County physical security, surveillance, radio, and telecommunications equipment.
This position requires availability for rotating shifts and a flexible schedule.
Preferred Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:
Graduation from an HVAC training program, technical school, or related educational program.
NATE Certification, HVAC Excellence Certification, or NCI Certification.
