JOB SUMMARY
The Senior SoftwareEngineer is responsible for the planning and development of software solutions for standard laser systems. They will also plan and develop customized applications that leverage the API of commercial software used by the company, such as Visual Components. They will lead other engineers and work collaboratively with management, Automation System Engineers and Simulation Engineers.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Duties/Responsibilities:
Create software plans and roadmaps for standard systems.
Develop software programs for standard systems.
Develop software specifications and guide other engineers in fulfilling requirements during projects.
Read, understand, test, debug and improve existing software.
Lead and participate in cross-functional software reviews.
Develop and maintain Visual Components Customizations (Commands and Behavior Scripts).
Collaborate with Simulation, Design and Project team personnel to complete development assignments.
Maintain project records in designated folders in a timely manner.
Complete work activities within project hours allotted and project schedule.
Participate in cost reduction and value improvement initiatives on standard systems.
Participate in continuous improvement activities of the company.
Review and provide input to development plans when requested.

What You'll Do

* 5+ years of hands-on experience in implementing and administering monitoring solutions (Dynatrace, ServiceNow Instance Observer, Cloud Watch, Azure Monitor).
* 5+ years of hands-on experience in hosting highly available cloud native applications, using auto-scaling, self-resilient architectures, across various cloud service providers such as Azure, AWS and GCP.
* 3+ years of hands-on experience with troubleshooting application and infrastructure issues in production environment, with high accuracy, conducting root cause analysis, providing preventive measures based on RCA on multiple cloud providers, including ServiceNow.
* 3+ years of experience in defining SLO and SLI for cloud native applications, measuring, reporting and alerting using custom scripts or monitoring solutions.
* 1+ years of experience with AI/ML, GenAI, and specifically AIOps.
* Prior experience with cloud providers security practices, networking, cloud administration, database technologies and maintenance, firewalls, and load balancers.
* Prior softwareengineering experience with the understanding of Business Context Diagrams (BCD), sequence/activity/state/entity relationship/data flow diagrams, OOP/OOD, data structures, algorithms, and code instrumentations.
* Prior experience using methodologies & tools such as XP, Lean, SAFe, DevSecOps, CI/CD, SRE, ADO, GitHub, SonarQube, etc. to deliver high-quality products rapidly.
* Certifications: ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) and at least one ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certification in a major module such as ITSM, CSM, HRSD, or APM.
* Must be a US Citizen
* Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
