Additional Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in the subject area. Coursework or experience in education is not required, nor is certification. Candidates must have the ability to obtain a fingerprint clearance card.
Preferred Qualifications: Subject matter postgraduate work (Master's or Ph.D.) is preferred. Together with a high level of educational attainment, a successful applicant will demonstrate strong communication skills in teaching ideas, texts, and concepts with precision and confidence. Critically, an applicant must possess a high GPA in their major, excellent recommendations, experience working with children- not necessarily in the classroom- and be open to new ideas in teaching.

MAJOR FUNCTIONS:

Assisting the staff in implementing a quality educational program and in developing positive relationships with the children and their parents, the Teacher Assistant observes and documents children's interest and progress, and relays that information back to parents and staff. TeacherAides are responsible for implementing developmentally appropriate activities based on children's interests and needs under the direction of the Teacher and the Director. We are looking for afternoon hours 2-5, and morning hours which can be anywhere between the hours of 7am and 3pm.
This is a part-time, hourly position.
Example of Duties:
Assist in the implementation of curricula activities and encourage participation by children.
Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, maintenance, and availability of classroom materials.
Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions and progress reports.
Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
