Report and document accessibility issues clearly and effectively.
Participate in training sessions to enhance accessibility testing skills.
Maintain awareness of WCAG 2.1 / Section 508 guidelines.

Position Summary:
As R&D Engineer at DRT, you will report to R&D Manager and perform the operational functions of the research and development lab while providing a broad range of technical support to enable new product and process development of high-speed easy open end systems and tooling packages. You will be challenged; you will learn; you will work on high impact, high visibility projects; you will grow.
Responsibilities:
Perform hands-on tooling set-up, installation, operation, adjustment, sample fabrication, product measurement, troubleshooting, testing, data analysis, project/product management and technical communication to internal and external stakeholders.
Lead troubleshooting investigations, root cause analysis and corrective action of product defects and generate technical reports, lessons learned and SOP documentation.
Perform tooling installation, adjustment, and press operation as needed on the R&D pilot line. Becoming proficient in press adjustment/operation is paramount to successfully filling this role.
Present technical reports to communicate conclusions of trial work, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and other technical topics using MS Word, MS Excel and PowerPoint.
Execute the testing and validation workstream for new systems, tooling packages, and NPD projects.
Participate in technical meetings for project planning, project status and reviews, brainstorming sessions and improvements to the lab and processes.
Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams to progress projects.
Working knowledge of high-speed aluminum metal forming technologies, including drawing, coining, ironing and stamping.
Minimum Requirements:
Broad training in a related field usually acquired through college degree level education, engineering degree or work-related experience.
Preferred Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree (B.A.), with work experience in the metal packaging industry, either at plant or technical level with experience in high-speed metal forming technologies and experience with engineering/mechanical principles and practices. Working knowledge of high-speed metal forming technologies and experience with precision tooling/equipment and a working knowledge of GD&T.
