In April 2018, Mr. Burwick was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Boston Beer. Prior to that, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Peet's Coffee & Tea, Inc., a specialty coffee and tea company based in Emeryville, California, since December 2012. From April 2010 to December 2012, Mr. Burwick served as President, North America of Weight Watchers International, Inc. (NYSE: WTW), a leading provider of weight management services based in New York City. Prior to that, Mr. Burwick held numerous positions with PepsiCo, Inc. (NASDAQ: PEP), headquartered in Purchase, New York, including Chief Marketing Officer, PepsiCo Americas Beverages from August 2008 to August 2009; Executive Vice President, Marketing, Sales and R&D, PepsiCo International from April 2008 to July 2008; President, Pepsi-QTG Canada from January 2006 to March 2008; Chief Marketing Officer, Pepsi-Cola North America from June 2002 to December 2005; and various marketing roles from 1989 to 2002. Mr. Burwick has also served on Boston Beer’s Board of Directors since May 2005. Mr. Burwick has extensive experience leading consumer products organizations. His significant experience in the beverage industry has also been integral in helping shape our overall brand development strategies during his time on the Company’s Board of Directors. Prior to accepting the position of President and Chief Executive Officer in April 2018, he served on our Compensation Committee since May 2005, including as Chair from May 2006 to May 2013, and on our Nominating/Governance Committee since May 2005, including as Chair since May 2013.

As CEO, Frank Qiu spearheads the operations of Evergreen Enterprises from managing financial and physical resources to long-term strategic planning and company organization. Prior to Evergreen, Frank's positions included being an assistant professor with the Fudan Economics Research Center, a member of a Shanghai government think tank focused on economic development. As an insurance sales agent at Prudential Insurance, Frank became a member of “President's Club,” the highest honor for top sales at the company and was also the owner of Evergreen Financial Services, his own successful P&C insurance agency. In 1993, at the creation of Evergreen Enterprises, Frank was a significant part of the venture, working with sales, sourcing, and partnerships. In 1995, to meet the needs of a quickly growing business, he sold his sales agency and devoted all of his time to Evergreen by taking on the role of CEO. In less than ten years, the company became a global enterprise with more than 300 full-time employees and thousands of uniquely designed products, meeting both indoor and outdoor decorative needs of American families. In 2000, Frank was named the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year for Virginia. Frank earned a B.B.A. in 1986 from Fudan University in China as well as a M.A. in Economics from Old Dominion University in 1989. He was also selected for three consecutive years to attend executive seminars co-sponsored by Harvard's Business School. As an alumnus of Fudan University, Frank was named “2009 Alumni of the Year” for his outstanding leadership in Evergreen's innovation and counter-attack during the economic downturn. He also sits on the board of Fudan's “MBA mentor-ship program” by coaching MBA students in their academic studies and career development. Taking on a role as an ambassador in American and Chinese relations, Frank has worked to facilitate business partnerships between the US and China, while inspiring future generations to achieve their entrepreneurial dreams. An enthusiastic cultural representative and philanthropist, Frank lives in Goochland, Virginia with his wife and two children. Frank loves gardening, reading, and chess.

Dan Smytka is a CEO, president and C-suite executive with global expertise for growing and leading multi-billion dollar businesses with General Electric, United Technologies and Goodyear Tire & Rubber. Having lived and led businesses in the Asia Pacific region for 10 years, Dan has an extensive knowledge for this region’s growth opportunities and complexities for developing businesses. Most recently, Dan was president & COO for Goodyear’s Europe, Middle East and Africa business with P&L responsibility for the region’s $3B Consumer Europe business. Prior to this appointment, Dan had been a leader in the company’s Asia Pacific business for seven years, including four as president of the region. While president, his business grew volume, share, and earnings in many key markets in the region, and improved operating efficiency; acquired exclusive rights to Goodyear-branded tires in Japan, and entered the commercial truck tire segment in China. In addition, Dan oversaw the opening of the Goodyear Development Center in China to enhance the company’s relationships with vehicle manufacturers. Prior to joining Goodyear, Dan was group president of the $2.3B North American Building Systems & Services division of United Technologies Carrier division from 2007 to 2008. As a 17 year GE veteran, Dan was made a company officer in 2005 and is a graduate of their prestigious Corporate Audit Staff program. He has held business leadership positions as president and CEO for Engineered Systems Security division, president and CEO for Asia Pacific Consumer and Industrial group based in Shanghai, China, and general manager of Appliances’ refrigeration business unit. A native of Detroit, Michigan, Dan earned a master’s degree in corporate finance from the University of Memphis. He received his bachelor’s degree with dual majors in business economics and psychology from Creighton University. He served in the U.S. Army, achieving the rank of Captain.
