Carl Burrow is excited to share the benefits of a transformative, connected, energy-saving motor system with customers. After more than 20 years building and leading global sales and marketing organizations at both public and private companies, his experience has been invaluable to Turntide’s dynamic growth. Carl has led several transformations in the IoT, enterprise software, and semiconductor industries and loves winning through building trusting relations and strategic partnerships with customers. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Missouri University of Science and Technology and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Amberton University. In his free time, he enjoys outdoor sports, including dirt biking, water skiing, golfing, and running.

Mike Karim brings a wealth of finance and operations expertise that will prove invaluable as Turntide scales to the next level. His past experience includes leadership roles at Hitachi Ventara, where he served as SVP of Strategy and Operations, and GE Software, where he served as Chief Financial Officer as they led the digital transformation to industrial internet solutions. Mike attended the University of Michigan and Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

Brad Surak brings a special combination of skills to his role: a history of driving successful digital business model transformations across multiple industries, including manufacturing, healthcare, energy, and transportation; extensive experience with IoT connectivity and advanced analytics technologies; and a track record of hyper-scaling teams. As the leader of Turntide’s product, marketing, and corporate strategy groups, Brad drives both enterprise and product strategy, value creation, technical architecture, and offerings, as well as aligns product and sales teams to support company growth. He previously served as the President of Digital Solutions at Hitachi Vantara, where he spearheaded the transformation of this 110-year-old global company into a digital solutions leader.

Gary Roberts has decades of experience building information applications and systems for both SMB and large corporations. His primary base of experience includes financial services, manufacturing, supply chain and transportation, software development, and engineering. Gary worked directly for Larry Ellison during Oracle’s rapid evolution into a leader in managed application services and the pioneering of “cloud” computing, has been responsible for implementing “cloud first” strategies across multiple enterprises, and has been a technology leader at JDA Software (currently known as Blue Yonder), Seagate, Union Pacific Corporation, Oracle, Bank of America, and American Express. His guidance has been critical as Turntide builds effective knowledge processes that affect global operations.

Smrdel joins Turntide from BAE Systems where he was the Engineering Leader and CTO of the ground vehicles business unit. He brings a distinguished track record of delivering mission-critical technologies and intelligent machines to highly demanding commercial, industrial, and military segments while scaling engineering teams in complex global industries. Before BAE, Smrdel spent seven years with GE Power in progressively critical engineering roles leading ​​technology, solutions, and services across the entire energy value chain. He holds a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering, an MBA, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
