Osborne is a graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary, where he received a Master of Divinity Degree. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude from Belhaven College.

Osborne received the American Red Cross Hero of the Year award in 2006 in the State of Connecticut. He is involved in a wide range of interests; a singer-songwriter, an artist receiving many commissions, enjoys writing, and athletic activities.
