Summary of Duties and Responsibilities: The Department of Ecology, Evolution, and Organismal Biology (EEOB) in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Iowa State University (ISU) seeks an integrative biologist working on the effects of environmental change on ecological or organismal health. The ideal candidate will have an integrative research program at any biological scale, from molecules to ecosystems, using any mixture of advanced experimental, computational, and/or analytical approaches and technological tools (e.g., artificial intelligence, remote sensing, environmental informatics, predictive modeling, and/or environmental genomics). Research should address pressing societal questions about organism responses to environmental change, disease risk, environmental resilience, adaptability, evolutionary medicine, ecological health and well-being, epigenetics, or other related topics. The successful candidate is expected to establish an externally funded research program and contribute to undergraduate and graduate education, including an introductory course in environmental health and an advanced course in an area of expertise. This is a tenure-track 9-month position at the rank of assistant professor, with a tenure-home appointment in EEOB (100%).
Required Minimum Qualifications:
* Ph.D. or equivalent in ecology, evolutionary biology, or closely related field by the time of hire.

EEOB is jointly administered by the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS). The department administers undergraduate programs in Biology, Environmental Science, and Genetics, and our faculty participate actively in multiple departmental and interdepartmental graduate programs, including Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, Environmental Science, Genetics and Genomics, and Bioinformatics and Computational Biology.

Job Summary:
The successful candidate will report to the OTD Program Director/Chairperson and will be responsible for all aspects of teaching assigned courses. Faculty in the OTD program teach 11-13 credits annually and are expected to engage in academic and professional service to advance the college, University and the profession, as well as scholarship, including dissemination of the results.

Minimum Qualifications:
A doctoral degree is required (e.g., PhD, ScD, EdD, or post-professional OTD), however an entry level doctoral applicant with significant experience will be considered. Applicant must be an NBCOT certified occupational therapist and be licensed in Iowa by the time the appointment begins. Applicants with a minimum of 5 years' experience in acute care, home health or physical rehabilitation are preferred. General knowledge and expertise in common clinical conditions treated by occupational therapists, evidence-based practice, clinical reasoning and critical analysis are required.

This will be at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor. Responsibilities include teaching at all levels of ballet, contemporary modern dance, dance composition, dance history, as well as other potential areas of specialty including, but not limited to; jazz, hip hop, musical theater, dance production, and yoga.
The successful candidate will be responsible for advising a student dance company that meets regularly, invites guest instructors, and holds performances throughout the year. As the faculty advisor, responsibilities include serving as the Artistic Director of Barjche', the main stage production at Fisher Theatre, which features both public performances and student matinees for public education. Additionally, the role involves maintaining an active artistic practice and contributing to the creation of original choreography for students.
In these various roles, the candidate is responsible for mentoring student choreographers, providing feedback on their work, and assisting in bringing it to the stage. The candidate works closely with the theatre production staff to schedule technical needs for productions, arranges a guest choreographer for a residency, and coordinates the annual Scholarship Concert dance event. The successful candidate will serve as the faculty representative for the American College Dance Association (ACDA), participating in, coordinating, and accompanying student conferences. This faculty member will share in committee responsibilities within the Department of Kinesiology and Health, as well as collaborate with the other dance faculty in developing and serving the Iowa State University Dance Program.
The initial appointment will span the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters, from August 16, 2026, through May 15, 2027. Appointment renewal is possible and will be determined by performance and department need.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.

* M.F.A. in Dance or Ph.D. in Dance or a related field
Preferred Qualifications:
