Position Description: The Division of Education at Mayville State University is seeking applications for a full-time faculty position in Special Education at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. This position begins in August 2026 and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and delivery of high-quality special education teacher preparation programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for program planning, instruction, and advising undergraduate special education majors. Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate and graduate coursework in special education, such as Learning Disabilities, Emotional Behavioral Disorders, Intellectual Disabilities, Modifications, and Introduction to Special Education. Courses will be delivered both on campus and online.
Additional responsibilities include creating and revising course content, reporting, and supervising students in clinical field experiences. The faculty member will collaborate with colleagues in the Division of Education on assessment and accreditation efforts and participate in service activities that support the university and the surrounding community. The position requires a commitment to excellence in teaching, professional communication, and collaboration, as well as a dedication to serving diverse student populations.
Minimum Qualifications
* An earned master's degree in special education with at least seven (7) years of direct experience in a K-12 setting
* Experience with multi-tiered systems of support, Response to Intervention, Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports
* Experience with Academic Achievement, Behavioral and Social-Emotional, Developmental, and functional & Curriculum Based Assessments
* Excellent working knowledge and skills in the use of research-based instructional strategies

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Assistant Professor of Communication is responsible for:
* Teaching 24 credits of on-campus, undergraduate courses per academic year, primarily in communication studies. Opportunities to instruct courses in online and hybrid formats may be available on a limited basis;
* Supervising experiential learning for communication majors and minors;
* Contributing to Lakeland's interdisciplinary studies program based on successful candidate's expertise;
* Administering and/or developing coursework (assignments, projects, in-class learning activities, critiques, exams) that meets and assesses course learning objectives;
* Revising and advancing the communication curriculum and assessment plan as needed;
* Advising students regarding their academic and experiential learning endeavors;
* Participating in student recruitment efforts;
* Serving on faculty and/or institutional committees;
* Participating in professional development opportunities related to one's field as well as student success strategies;
* Using university technology as directed, including academic platforms such as Blackboard and SWIM to support student learning.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Ph.D. in Communication by the start of employment (ABD will be considered)
* Evidence of excellent teaching, in addition to demonstrated competence in online or hybrid learning environments
* Commitment to experiential learning both in and out of the classroom
* Experience working effectively with individuals of varying ages, backgrounds, and motivations
* Experience with curriculum and program assessment preferred

Curriculum Development - Develop and continually revise curriculum and instructional materials that are competency-based, current, consistent with employer expectations, and aligned with the college policy on level of required documentation to successfully prepare graduates for their chosen career fields.
Classroom Management - Fulfill assigned schedule, maintain accurate student attendance and grade records, maintain instructional environment with emphasis on safety, housekeeping, and equipment security, and ensure opportunities for student/engagement evaluation. Ensure course materials (including textbooks) are available to students.
Team Participation - Support the college by engaging in division, department and team activities, and meetings including planning, development, and budgeting, and staying current with internal and external changes and initiatives.
Business & Community Engagement - Build and maintain ongoing relationships with community, industry, and clinical partners by participating in advisory committees, external meetings, business visits, and community groups Collaborate with staff to recruit students, participate in recruitment events, and proactively promote the College and our programs.
Student Success & Support - Serve as an advocate for students and engage in activities that help students reach their goals by collaborating with Student Services staff to retain students, close achievement gaps, and help all students be successful. Advise students regarding class schedules, career information, internships, and other program-related information.
Professional Development - Continually improve knowledge and skills in emerging trends, current occupational practices, and teaching through professional development activities, networking with regional industry leaders, and the integration of new techniques and technology. Maintain Faculty Quality Assurance System requirements and licensure required to maintain individual and program accreditation.
Minimum QualificationsEducation and/or Experience Requirements:
Associate Degree required (Bachelor's degree preferred).
Five years of occupational experience in the relevant field of instruction, with at least one year of experience within the past five years. (One year of the occupational experience requirement may be waived if the individual has at least two years of post-secondary teaching experience in the appropriate occupational field within the last five years.)
Teaching or training experience is desirable.
Ability to plan, organize, instruct, and facilitate quality education programs, including development of relevant curriculum.
Qualified per FVTC requirements at time of, and throughout employment as an instructor. Must also meet and maintain Higher Learning Commission (HLC) requirements, Faculty Quality Assurance Standards (FQAS), and/or other job specific licensing standards.
Licenses, Certifications, and Other Requirements:
Valid Driver's License.

State of Wisconsin Firefighter I.
Upon hire, obtain State of Wisconsin Fire Instructor II certification.
Previous teaching experience with adult learners is preferred.

Position Summary:
Moraine Park Technical College is seeking a part-time, Adjunct Faculty - AI Data Specialist instructor for the Spring 2026 term on our Fond du Lac Campus. This instructor may also travel between the Beaver Dam, Fond du Lac, and West Bend Campuses with some opportunities to teach online. This position is responsible for the multiple modality delivery of instruction and facilitation of student learning and providing ongoing development of curriculum, assessment, and learning strategies to meet workforce needs. In addition, the selected candidate will provide regular student support and contact, or refer to the appropriate department, to meet the learner's classroom and career goals.
The successful candidate will have a associates degree in a related field and two years (4,000 hours) of paid work experience related to the program(s) being taught, including one year (2,000 hours) of related paid work experience that has been acquired within the past five years. In lieu of this one year (2,000 hours) of recent experience, two years of post-secondary teaching experience in the appropriate occupational field within the past five years may be considered. (Two years of post-secondary teaching experience means eight semesters of part-time teaching or four semesters of full-time teaching at an accredited institution.)

Responsibilities:
Prepare for and facilitate learning in the assigned courses according to the College's core values. Establish a professional and safe learning environment. Set the classroom tone by modeling appropriate workplace skills and behavior. Maintain a positive climate for learning by performing classroom management and being aware of, monitoring, and enforcing the Student Code of Conduct.
Meet student learning needs by incorporating a variety of teaching methods and assessments.
Maintain student confidentiality, records, and documentation as required by Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Submit grades within the expected timeframe.
Provide timely verbal and written feedback to the students to ensure continued growth and development.
May participate in the development, implementation, evaluation, and updating of curriculum.
Assist with student recruitment and positively promote the College programs and services offered.
Promote retention and student success through the utilization of referrals to College services and resources.
Maintain ongoing relationships with K-12, Department of Corrections (DOC), community, and industry partners beyond the classroom.
Actively maintain proficient knowledge and skills in emerging trends and current occupational practices. Complete annual professional development activities in areas of Faculty Quality Assurance Standards (FQAS) competencies. Complete all required training.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Prior teaching or training experience preferred.

Minimum Qualifications
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
* A Master's degree in the discipline or subfield they teach, OR
* A Master's degree AND 18 graduate credits in the discipline or subfield they teach, OR
* A Master's degree AND appropriate licensure in the discipline or subfield they teach.
* Previous teaching experience is desirable.
* Experience with User Experience and CRM preferred.
* Qualified per FVTC requirements at time of, and throughout employment as an instructor. Must also meet and maintain Higher Learning Commission (HLC) requirements, Faculty Quality Assurance Standards (FQAS), and/or other job specific licensing standards.
Non-US degrees/courses may provide a different scope of practice in other countries. Courses to be reviewed on an individual basis.

Additional Information
