Does City Sports drug test?
Yes, City Sports drug tests. However, they do not do so consistently across locations or positions. From our research, we have found that around 30% of current or past City Sports employees were asked to take a pre-employment drug test.
While the likelihood of being asked to take a pre-employment drug test increases for those applying for management positions, it largely depends on the store location and preference of the hiring manager.
When used, City Sports uses a third-party lab that tests using either a urine or blood sample. The test looks for cannabis, opiates, amphetamines, benzodiazepines, and cocaine. City Sports takes applicants on a case-by-case basis who have a medical cannabis card or who live in a state with legalized cannabis.
Employees are allowed to use tobacco or vaping products outside of the building, in a designated smoking area, but must wash their hands before returning to work.
