Does Five Guys drug test?
No, Five Guys does not drug test. From our research, we could not find any reports from current or former employees who were asked to do a pre-employment drug test. That's not to say that Five Guys doesn't have a drug policy, because they do.
According to the policy, no employee shall come to work intoxicated. This includes any prescription drugs or medical cannabis. If an employee shows up to work noticeably intoxicated, they are asked to leave immediately and take a drug test within 24 hours of being sent home. Failure to take the drug test results in termination.
Five Guys does encourage employees to hang out after work, which many times may include drinking. Five Guys asks all employees to do so responsibly and not wear their work shirts out to the bars while drinking.
Five Guys is a smoke-free workplace. No tobacco or vaping products can be used inside of the building. Employees are also not allowed to smoke while wearing the Five Guys uniform. If an employee wants to smoke during their break they must do so 50 feet away from the building, while not wearing their work shirt.
