This question is about Open.
Yes, Open does hire felons. They do so, however, on a case-by-case basis depending on the nature of the felony, how long ago it happened, and the position applied for.
Felonies related to theft, cyber crimes or violence make employment at Open more difficult, as do felony convictions that occurred within the last year. Positions related to asset protection and security are more difficult to get at Open if you have a criminal background.
Open does not ask about a candidate's criminal background during the application process. They do, however, run a criminal background check on all new hires.
The best thing you can do is to be honest with the hiring manager during the interview about anything that might show up on your background check. This also allows you the ability to explain things in your own words.
