Does Panera Bread drug test?
No, Panera Bread does not drug test. From our research, an overwhelming majority of past and former employees report not being asked to submit to a pre-employment drug test as part of the hiring process.
Panera Bread's Employee Code of Conduct also does not mention a pre-employment drug test. However, it does touch on their drug and tobacco policies.
Panera Bread does not allow its employees to be under the influence of anything illegal while at work (drugs/alcohol). Nor do they sell or buy anything illegal while at work. Failure to comply will result in automatic termination.
Panera Bread is also completely a smoke-free workplace. Employees are not allowed to take smoke breaks during their shifts. Panera Bread also asks employees not to smoke directly before their shift because they don't want their employees smelling like cigarettes. Vaping is okay outside of the building, away from customers' eyesight, during designated break times.
