How do you learn plumbing?
You learn plumbing by getting your education, finding an apprenticeship, and taking your licensure exam. While not required in all states, it is a good idea to take plumbing trade school courses. These can be done through technical or vocational schools.
Individuals who are interested in becoming a plumber should have a strong background in algebra, geometry, and metric units of measure. Studying thermodynamics is also recommended. After getting your education and learning basic skills, you will need to pursue a plumbing apprenticeship program.

Being a journeyman plumber means you will be able to work independently in both residential and commercial settings. Typical duties will include installing and maintaining sewage disposal and gas lines, as well as fixtures and appliances. Individuals must typically renew their license every 3 to 5 years.
