It takes 3 years of professional experience to become a picker. That is the time it takes to learn specific picker skills, but does not account for time spent in formal education.
There are certain skills that you need to obtain in order to become a successful picker. Some of the most common skills are listed below. Along with each skill, we provide an actual example of how someone included the skill on their resume:
Pallet Jack -- Move retail merchandise/fulfillment center equipment with a pallet jack.
Customer Orders -- Assist Management with maintaining inventory *Certified Quality Control and Inspector of all final products *Locate and resolve issues with Customer orders
RF -- Audit Orders Counting Sorting RF Scanner Labeling/Matching orders
Safety Standards -- Follow established departmental policies, procedures, objectives and safety standards.

The OSHA Safety Certificate certification is most common among Pickers. This certification is awarded by the Delaware Technical Community College. To become a certified Picker with OSHA Safety Certificate , You don't need to pass the exam. This certificate requires more than two years of work experience. No renewal for certification, if you earn it once it is valid all time.
