How long does it take to become a Welder?

1. Component Parts -- Clamped, held, tack-welded, ground, or bolted component parts to acquire the desired configurations and positions for welding.

2. Aluminum -- Assembled then welded various aluminum and steel parts; assembled military environmental control and power generation trailers.

3. Hand Tools -- Fabricated in shop used band saw, iron machine, magnetic drill, grinder, acetylene cutting and other hand tools.

4. Stainless Steel -- Used blueprint reading on various fabrication and welding projects using MIG and TIG on steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.

5. Gmaw -- Welded structural steel for buildings, signs, and a bridge for pipes to cross a span using the GMAW processes.

Common Certifications For A Welder

The Certified Welder certification is most common among Welders. This certification is awarded by the American Welding Society. This certification is great to have as it shows an improvement in your competency to perform your role. You can earn this certification at the beginning of your career, as it often doesn't require a minimum education level and work experience. To become a certified Welder with Certified Welder, You need to pass the exam. Lucky you - certification doesn't require more than two years of work experience. Renew certification every 5 year.
