How long is the NIHSS certification good for?

By Zippia Team - Jan. 8, 2023

NIH Stroke Scale certification is good for one year after someone initially receives certification. After that initial renewal, recertification is needed every two years. The renewal process after that first year includes completing continuing education courses.

Although the certification lasts two years, many professionals renew their certifications yearly. This is because many hospitals and clinics require annual recertification of NIHSS certification.
