How to get a job as a model

First, decide what type of model you would like to be. There are many different kinds of models, such as runway models, print models, plus-size models, hand models, and many more.

Then start to practice at home. Take cues from videos or advertisements that display the type of modeling you wish to pursue. Try to imitate the professional models you see.

Build a strong social media presence if you don't already have one. Try to post pictures of yourself that may translate well in the modeling world.

Get headshots from a professional photographer. This can be expensive, but it's well worth it, as the only way you're likely to start getting modeling gigs is if agencies and companies can see what you look like when photographed.

Take modeling classes. These will educate on how to perform at modeling shoots and how to maintain good health and nutrition.

Look for a modeling agent. Once you have a large enough photograph portfolio (including your headshots), take it with you to an agency for an audition. You can try to get clients on your own, but most prefer to work through modeling agencies.

Lastly, be fearless about promoting yourself. This is essential to having success as a model and will likely land you many gigs.
