The duties of a logistics specialist are varied and focus on the tracking of inventory from production through distribution. Specialists often oversee large warehouses and may be responsible for managing or scheduling employees.
A primary duty of a logistics specialist is the accurate accounting of product inventory. As inventory is always in flux, specialists must be able to track in-house production, warehouse storage, and outgoing shipments. Well, run warehouses maintain a consistent flow of product inventory and do not experience surplus or shortage issues.
In order for a warehouse to maintain this consistent flow, it is the specialist's duty to monitor other aspects of inventory. Expense sheets and vehicle maintenance records are both responsibilities of the logistics specialist.
