This question is about registered nurse prn.
The requirement for PRN is becoming a registered nurse (RN) with at least one year of experience. Having the necessary knowledge and experience is required to perform the duties of the shifts you would work as a PRN.
Becoming a registered nurse takes three standard steps:
Acquire a nursing degree. An Associate of Science or Applied Science in Nursing or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing is the standard degree requirement.
Take the National Certification Licensure exam. This exam is what you need in order to become an RN.
Gain relevant work experience. Working for at least a year in the medical field proves that you are capable of doing the varying hospital or health care system duties.
A PRN and an RN perform the same duties. A PRN is an RN that works on an as-needed basis. An RN, however, is generally a full-time permanent employee of the hospital or health care system, so a PRN would still need the same qualifications as an RN.
