This question is about what an engineer does.

What do entry-level engineers do?

By Kate Swindlehurst - Jun. 12, 2023

Entry-level engineers work closely with their team leads, take ownership over parts of a project, and complete menial reports.

Most engineers have completed at least a bachelor's degree program as well as some internships prior to applying for an entry-level engineering job. Entry-level engineers work under the direction of a team lead who is typically a senior engineer. The senior engineer assigns parts of an overall project to the entry-level engineer.

Entry-level engineers complete tasks and report the status of their parts of a project to the senior engineer, as well as completing more menial tasks, such as submitting estimations and applications to take the pressure of senior engineers. Over time, entry-level engineers will be allowed to take over increasingly important parts of their company's projects.
