What does a pharmacist manager do?
A pharmacist manager manages the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy. Pharmacy managers' primary responsibility is managing pharmacy staff, dispensing prescription medication and advising clients, ensuring proper and safe inventory and storage of prescription drugs and controlled substances.
The pharmacy manager also manages the ordering inventory and maintains records. They have to know which medications are most likely to be prescribed and make sure they have those that are less often prescribed on hand as well. The stock cannot be kept sitting on the shelf indefinitely because it will go bad.
The pharmacy manager must also manage the staff at the pharmacy. They must develop schedules, ensure quality assurance goals are met, and train and develop the staff to provide excellent, knowledgeable service to their customers. They must also handle customer complaints and maintain contact with doctors' offices.
