What hours do lawyers work?

Most lawyers work standard working hours of a 5-day week, consisting of 8-hour work days each day. This is often when their offices or their practices are open. Many lawyers may need additional hours researching cases or preparing and reviewing documents.

It is not uncommon for layers to need to work more than 40 hours, especially during busy times, such as during a trial or leading up to a settlement.
