A department of transportation certified medical examiner (DOT) certification is a certification in the medical field that proves that an individual has skills in healthcare, which specialization in the requirements for the DOT. This certification is awarded by the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners (NRCME).

A DOT medical certification is available to healthcare providers who are licensed to perform physical exams. For example, MDs, DOs, NPs, PAs, and DCs. To become a certified healthcare professional must complete training and testing regarding the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's (FMCSA) standards and guidelines.

Your training prepares you to issue medical certificates for commercial motor vehicle (CMV) drivers who meet the requirements of Section 391.41 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs). After completion of the program, you will receive an FMCSA DOT NRCME Medical Examiners Certificate. You will be listed in a registry available to most businesses, as well as the general public.
