Art directors and creative directors are above senior graphic designers. There are several steps to climb on the well-designed ladder to the director. The career path for graphic design starts with a junior or associate position, followed by a graphic designer, then a senior, and director.
A graphic design role may have several levels to climb to a senior design position. After becoming a junior graphic designer, there may be several levels of a graphic designer that are mid-level roles toward becoming a senior graphic designer.
A senior graphic designer typically has more responsibilities that include supervising the work of the junior and mid-Level designers while the directors at the company will oversee the senior graphic designer's work.
