This question is about Snap jobs.
The hiring process at Snap involves multiple stages, including a phone screen, a technical phone interview, and an onsite interview with multiple technical rounds. The entire hiring process takes between four to six weeks, including the background check.
Application Process
Check out Snap's career website to view open positions and read job descriptions. The online application process requires you to create an account with a username and password.
The advantage of creating an account gives you the ability to check the status of your application at any point during the hiring process. The application requires you to upload a resume and cover letter and link any relevant social media sites.
Phone Screening
The initial phone screening is with a recruiter from Snap. The phone call is typically a 30-minute chat to talk about why you want to work at Snap and your personal experience using the Snapchat app. They want to see that candidates are excited and experienced using their product.
Depending on the position, you may be asked to undergo several rounds of phone interviews to weed out potential candidates. The next round is a phone call with the hiring manager. This conversation ranges from 30 or 60 minutes in length.
The hiring manager is interested in getting a sense of your communication skills and your past work experience. He/she may want to know why you are interested in working at Snap. They may also ask questions oriented towards the Snapchat app - such as what you like or dislike about particular Snapchat features.
Interview Sessions
At this stage, the interview is usually on-site, where five people will interview you. Each of these five interviews will last for about 45 minutes in length. An example of a typical interview would be to speak with three product managers, one engineer, and one non-product person.
The interview is a mix of technical, behavioral, and strategy questions that assess your ability to reason about competitive landscapes and high-level product direction decisions. The key to success in these interviews is starting at a high level with the goals of the product and then drilling deeper into actions and metrics.
