ADP LLC owns ADP. The company was originally founded and owned by brothers, Henry and Joe Taub back in 1949 in Paterson, New Jersey, as a manual payroll processing business. The original name of the company was Automatic Payrolls.

It was also in this year that ADP went public. Since then, the company has established many subsidiaries, including Celergo LLC, WorkMarket, MasterTax, and many more.

After 1985 ADP, annual revenues at the company began to exceed the $1 billion mark. And it has sustained and increased these extremely high revenues all the way to present day. ADP currently has about 58,000 employees worldwide and its fiscal year 2019 revenues were $14.2 billion.
