The University of Akron School of Law will hire an assistant library professor on a twelve-month contract to begin as soon as possible. This is a law faculty non-tenure track position eligible for continuing appointment. The position includes equal voting rights and expected participation on faculty and university committees.
The library professor will provide reference and research services, participate in collection development, and complete other duties as assigned. We're particularly interested in candidates with experience or a strong interest in student services, electronic services, or developing legal technologies such as AI. In addition to the librarian duties, the library professor will teach in our LARW I program and Advanced Legal Research. Opportunities to teach LARW II, specialized research courses, and other courses to be determined. POSITION: Assistant Professor of Acting, Full Time - Tenure Track
DEPARTMENT: Department of Theatre, College of Liberal Arts, Slippery Rock University.
SUMMARY: The SRU Theatre Department is seeking a dynamic, innovative, and motivated theatre artist and scholar to fill a new, full-time, tenure-track faculty position to begin Fall 2026. This position will lead the continued development and execution of the BFA Acting program; teach several specialized BFA technique courses; and direct at least one production a year in our $31 million+ newly-renovated performance facilities.
The Theatre Department at SRU is a well-established undergraduate program offering a BFA degree in Acting (with concentrations in Musical Theatre and Acting) as well as BA degrees in Acting, Theatre Arts Management, Design & Technology, and Theatre Studies. Our department focuses on producing contemporary and new work as well as boldly inventive adaptations of classics. We are also focused on cultivating authentic, unique artists who are resilient and prepared for the theatre of tomorrow. To support our community we practice the principles of TIE and boundary work -honoring and respecting boundaries in all spaces: classroom, creative, and community.
The candidate will be expected to assume a prominent leadership role in the successful development and continuing implementation of the new BFA Acting concentration, including extensive recruitment responsibilities, curricular development, mentoring of students, and advancing the visibility and reputation of the department and university.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teaching responsibilities: 3-4 courses per semester.
Course rotation WILL include Acting 1 (for BFA Acting students), Movement for the Actor, Acting for Camera I & II, Scene Study/Advanced Scene Study
Course rotation MAY include (as applicant's abilities and schedule allow) Senior Showcase, Auditioning, Acting Shakespeare, Voice for the Actor, Meisner Technique, Stage Combat, IPA/Dialects, Fundamentals of Acting (non-major acting course, and Art of Theatre (large general education course)
Additional Responsibilities will include: directing 1-2 mainstage productions per year; participation in the development and leadership of the BFA Acting concentration; recruitment, advising, continuing professional development, service to the department, college and university.

Minimum Qualifications
Terminal degree (MFA or PhD) in Acting, Directing, Musical Theatre, or appropriately related theatre discipline completed by August 1, 2026
Evidence of a body of work as a professional actor
Evidence of experience teaching at the post-secondary level

Thiel College has opened a search for a tenure-track assistant or associateprofessor of chemistry to join the faculty in August of 2026. The area of expertise is open, but preference will be given to candidates with backgrounds in inorganic or analytical chemistry. The primary teaching responsibilities could include the two-semester sequence of courses in general chemistry as well as upper-level courses in inorganic chemistry, quantitative analysis, instrumental analysis, environmental chemistry, or other topics related to the candidate's expertise. The typical teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester. Chemistry faculty are expected to supervise independent research projects of chemistry majors, and there will be opportunities to teach advanced topics courses, courses for non-majors, as well as courses in the honors program.

Thiel College is currently entering phase two of renovations to our science building, and so the new hire will participate in designing new teaching spaces and laboratories for future generations of Thiel students. Our department is equipped with a 60 MHz permanent magnet FT-NMR, modern UV-Vis and ATR-FTIR spectrometers, GC, HPLC, GC-MS, apparatus for cyclic voltammetry, and a scanning electron microscope, all of which are housed in recently renovated lab spaces. We enthusiastically seek a colleague who embraces undergraduate teaching and will help us continue to deliver an engaging chemistry program to a range of learners including non-science majors and students interested in the health sciences and nutrition. Thiel chemistry majors and minors seek admission to medical professional schools and pursue graduate study in chemistry and biochemistry, and secure rewarding positions in the chemical industries in the region.

Position Summary
Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania is seeking applicants for a full-time, Tenure Track faculty member in the Department of Safety Management beginning August 2026. The BS in Safety Management is well known throughout the United States of America and has been noted as the premier safety program among all safety degrees. The Department has five safety labs and four traditional classrooms.
The Bachelor of Science Degree in Safety Management at Slippery Rock University meets the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) requirements as a Qualified Academic Program (QAP). The Safety Management Major at SRU is an Institute of Hazardous Materials Management (IHMM) Board-approved degree program. The major is based on safety management concepts with technical elements incorporated throughout the curriculum.
The successful applicant must have the knowledge and experience needed to teach a variety of undergraduate safety courses. Primary courses: Intro to Safety and Security in the Workplace, as well as other courses such as Legislative Compliance-General Industry, Construction Safety, Principles of Industrial Hygiene I & II, Hazardous Materials and Waste Management, Comprehensive Emergency Management and Fire Abatement, Ergonomics, Incident Investigation, Contemporary Issues in Safety, Motor Fleet, Safety Training, and Safety Management. Must also provide academic advisement, pursue scholarly work, and participate in service to the Department, University, and Community.
Completion of a doctoral degree is required to be tenured at the end of the five-year probationary process. Documentation evidencing enrollment in a Doctoral Program must be provided prior to appointment.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's Degree required at time of appointment (at least one degree must be in safety or a closely related field such as Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics, etc.). Degrees must be from a University or College that is accredited by one of the seven active regional accrediting agencies for educational institutions in the US: MSCHE, NEASC, HLC, NAC, SACS, WASC, or ACCJC.
Safety Management philosophy required. The candidate must demonstrate a commitment to the education of diverse populations. A minimum of five current years in a full-time safety professional position (external to the classroom or laboratory) related to the courses to be taught, is required. A successful performance in an interview and teaching demonstration.
Preferred Qualifications
Current relevant successful full-time safety teaching experience at the college level with seven years of previous relevant professional safety applied experience OR current relevant full-time professional safety applied experience (seven years) related to content areas of courses to be taught. CSP, CIH, CSHM or other relevant safety certifications preferred. Preferred experience and knowledge in current safety practices and security as well Legislative Compliance-General Industry, Construction Safety, Principles of Industrial Hygiene I & II, Hazardous Materials and Waste Management, Comprehensive Emergency Management and Fire Abatement, Ergonomics, Incident Investigation, Contemporary Issues in Safety, Motor Fleet, Safety Training, Safety Management.
