POSITION SUMMARY
The Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) is hiring approximately 40 total Conservation CampCounselors (CCC) to work with its on-site summer camps facilitated out of our 4 zoos and 1 aquarium in New York City. This is a unique opportunity to explore education at an informal science institution. You will work part-time in the WCS Education Department. You will report to work on-site at the Queens Zoo - this is not a remote work opportunity. RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Conservation CampCounselor (CCC) you will:
* Work on-site at the Queens Zoo. This position is fully in person and there is no option for remote work.
* Follow and reinforce all health and safety protocols and procedures while implementing camp activities.
* Lead engaging summer camp programs alongside full-time education staff for children in grades Pre-K-12th.
* Spend the camp day outdoors, supervising campers in the zoo/aquarium and surrounding park space if applicable and travelling safely with campers at all times.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Engage and support children in play-based activities
Prep and clean up before and after activities
Work collaboratively with other team members

We are seeking enthusiastic, motivated and talented individuals to work as summer campcounselors with our camp programs. This is a perfect position for recent high school graduates, college students, or those looking for an entry-level position for the summer!
Summer seasonal position (6-10 weeks)

No formal experience required
Spend the summer with our AMAZING students having fun at camp!
Responsibilities: assist campers and teachers with camp activities, monitor students during lunch and breaks, assist with camp administrative duties, other duties as needed
Requirements:
Ability to travel to Ocean County Community College daily
Counselors must be at least 18 years of age
Experience with children in a camp, babysitting, or educational setting preferred but not required
