This position reports to the Senior Lead Counsel and will support a variety of teams within the international business, including the International Growth Org. This role requires a dynamic and business-oriented attorney with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Walmart International is focused on how to grow Walmart's businesses across the globe - and not only in traditional retail offerings - but also in terms of third-party marketplace sales, advertising services, data commercialization and cross border logistics, among others. The successful candidate will provide practical and frontline legal advice to this business on a wide range of matters including commercial contracts, strategic initiatives, and 3P seller and supplier relationships. Location: Onsite - Bentonville, AR **What you'll do...** + Provide frontline legal support and strategic counsel to the business on strategic initiatives, supplier/seller relationships, contract structures, and other critical projects. + Support business teams stationed across numerous geographies in Asia, UK, the Americas and more. This role will help ensure these teams are well connected to Walmart's global strategies and that any risks are being identified and mitigated effectively. In some cases, this involves partnering closely with internal Walmart attorneys co-located with Market operations and/or working with a local external firm. + Provide legal leadership on a wide range of complex commercial agreements. Given the matrixed nature of the business structure, this role will both (i) directly negotiate and draft certain agreements and (ii) drive the completion of an agreement executed by one of Walmart's affiliates or international entities. In the latter, the role must keep in mind principles of global contracting consistency, risk-mitigation, and speed to solve business problems. + Address corporate needs of entities and branches relevant to the international business teams' work. + Review and advise on external corporate communications related to business activities and events. + Assist more senior attorneys (or in some cases lead) on multi-jurisdictional and complex projects such as cross-border data transfers, technological innovations, business growth, etc. + Partner with internal stakeholders such as intellectual property, trade, tax, antitrust, privacy to identify, assess, and mitigate legal and business risks. + Contribute to the ongoing improvement of legal operations for the international legal team.
