Key Responsibilities

Duties:
Create a fun, engaging, and welcoming environment for all children and families.
Oversee and manage the staff in the classroom, including providing guidance, support, and mentorship to assistant teachers and floats.
Ensure smooth daily operations of the classroom, including planning schedules, requesting and maintaining supplies, managing transitions, and maintaining a positive classroom culture.
Implement Tierra Encantada's curriculum and lesson plans fully through the development of daily activities to support educational objectives.
Exhibit proper classroom management skills to foster a safe and structured learning environment.
Assess each child's developmental needs on an ongoing basis through observations.
Partner with teachers and leaders to prepare for parent-teacher conferences.
Partner with parents in supporting their child's growth by providing daily feedback and maintaining open communication.
Ensure the assigned classroom is well-maintained, organized, and cleaned daily in accordance with health and safety standards.
Develop and maintain good working relationships with all co-workers and foster a collaborative team environment.
Attend all required staff meetings, workshops, training, etc., and actively contribute to the team's growth and development.
Fulfill required training requirements and support Center objectives in achieving Quality Ratings and accreditation.
Other duties as assigned based on the needs of the center.
Qualifications:
Must be fluent in Spanish and English
Must be 18 years or older
CDA and/or Associate or Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
Previous experience in a licensed childcare center preferred
Ability to complete all required licensing training upon hire
CPR/First Aid certified or the ability to become certified within 90 days - employees are responsible for renewing and maintaining a valid, current CPR and pediatric first aid certification at all times
Strong communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with families and co-workers
Must have respect for diversity and recognize that diversity makes our program better
Must have the ability to complete annual required training to ensure providing high-quality early education
Qualified candidates must have the physical ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations. Compensation & Benefits
This non-exempt, at will position has an hourly rate noted above, depending on qualifications, education, and experience.
