Civicorps company history timeline
In 1983, Civicorps was founded as one of the first local conservation corps in California and is based on the Civilian Conservation Corps model of land conservation work and formal education.
In 1995, Oakland Unified School District approved the charter for Civicorps Corpsmember Academy, creating a high-school diploma program, making us the first high school for young adults, age 18 – 26, in the entire district.
Civicorps Corpsmember Academy ceased operations on June 30, 2021.
On July 1, 2021, Civicorps began a partnership with Alameda County Office of Education’s Opportunity Academy.
