About the Role The Referral Response Coordinator is responsible for responding to potential organ donation cases to help evaluate the patient's status and suitability for donation. They travel to a variety of hospitals as the case load requires and works with onsite clinical teams to gather information pertinent for the timely evaluation of organ donation potential by senior team members. This position has responsibilities for facilitating the beginning of an organ donation case according to OPTN and Indiana Donor Network guidelines, policies and regulations. Responsibilities include: • Responding to referrals from assigned hospitals to collect and communicate data regarding suitability of potential donor • Facilitating the donation process in collaboration with internal and external partners and the initiation of donor management orders • Participates on projects or committees that enhance or improve the overall success or culture of the organization. Shift and Location This is a day shift position. The hours are 7 am to 7 pm. The days of the week would rotate, and include two weekends per month. You would work three shifts one week and four shifts the next. The position is primarily located onsite at Deaconess Midtown, and would include support of the Midtown and Gateway locations. The position would also require travel to additional hospital locations within the southern territory as needed based on case activity. Who We're Looking For A bachelor's degree in a clinical area, such as nursing, respiratory therapy, or another related area is preferred. Previous exposure to a critical care delivery setting is strongly preferred. Professional experience in the donation community is preferred. Must have current BLS or obtain within 6 months.
