A welder is responsible for measuring, cutting, and assembling metal projects using an electric arc and inert gas. Welders carefully fuse metal components, avoiding contamination on the weld, as well as managing the metal bond defects. They analyze specifications, interpret blueprints, and operate various machine tools and equipment for accurate measuring and cutting. Welders should also know how to do the following things: · Be skillful in the fusing of metals using prescribed welding applications. · Have a working knowledge of the welding equipment involved with the various welding procedures. · Comprehend drawings and develop layout patterns for projects and calculate quantities of materials. · Have a thorough knowledge of metals, arc electrodes, welding gases, and gas welding filler rods. · Recognize defective welds; know the cause and proper procedures for the repair of the defective area. · Have a working knowledge of mathematics calculations pertaining to the welding trade. · Have a working knowledge of the require codes · Be familiar with the work of other trades people in affiliated trades *If your application is selected, we will reach out to you. Processing defects would be but not limited to: FM, bones, extraneous material (to include fecal matter), feathers, broken/mis-cut, missed heads, torn, fat levels, etc. Identify and report any suspicious or abnormal situations to their immediate supervisor or plant management official. Abnormal situation would be: Product tampering Willful product adulteration Unauthorized employees in restricted areas Situation where a belief that product adulteration may be occurring Equipment malfunction that may put product wholesomeness at stake Physical Demands: Standing/walking 100% of the workday. Lifting and pulling various weights based upon machine and task in hand. Carry a waist tool belt (approximately 15-45 pounds) with all the various tools and supplies needed for daily work.
