Hill won again for the third time in 1955, this time in a 3.0-liter Ferrari.
Along with giving the Hill Pierce-Arrow its historic win, the 1955 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance was first to name a featured marque and, in this case, two: Packard and Cord.
The Best of Show for Rod & Custom Show was Brian Almas’ 1956 Chevrolet Nomad.
In 1957, Monterey County opened the Laguna Seca racetrack on property that had belonged to the United States military, and, naturally, the races moved there under the direction of the Sports Car Racing Association of the Monterey Peninsula (SCRAMP).

After his death in 1966, the concours issued the first annual award named for him, to a given year's Rolls entrant "most in the Lucius Beebe tradition."
The Cup was hosted at a handful of circuits throughout America since it’s formative years in Newport, with the final race weekend having been hosted at Long Island’s Bridgehampton Race Circuit in 1968.
But when Gwenn Graham, who had overseen Pebble since its early years, died in 1968, there appeared to be a power void.
The next big change came in 1974, when Steven J. Earle organized the first Monterey Historics races at the 17-year-old Laguna Seca circuit.
The other was Italian-born Mario Andretti, who won in 1978.
First staged in 1986, the Concours has its home on the picturesque lawns of Huntington Beach Central Park in Huntington Beach.
1989 Porsche was the featured marque and Porsche Cars of America became a partial sponsor of the event.
Then in 1990, a couple of new events on the Carmel-Monterey Peninsula amped up the commercial appeal of the concours.
1996 Featured Marque – Corvette.
1997 Featured Marque – Mercedes-Benz.
The concours loosened its definition of "classic" a bit and hosted its first hot rods and a special microcars class in 1997.
In 2000, its golden anniversary, the concours named Glenn Mounger its new chairman, and Ed Gilbertson chief judge.
A multitude of Ferraris, and authentic and replica Cobras took center stage in 2001.
Mazda continues to do this annually and bought the naming rights to the Laguna Seca circuit in 2001.
Entries toped 400 in 2002 with over 75 motorcycles helping to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Ariel.
2002 Salute to the Ford Thunderbirds – Classic & New, the Aston Martin, and Ariel Motorcycle.
2004 Salute to Porsche and Vincent Motorcycle.
2005 Salute to BMW Automobiles and Motorcycles, Mini and Packard.
2006 Featured in this twenty-first annual event held on June 4th, were Ferrari, the Ford Mustang and Honda motorcycle.
2007 Salute to ’32 Ford and Donut Derelicts on Saturday and Cadillac & LaSalle, Alfa Romeo, Harley-Davidson and Suzuki motorcycles on Sunday.
2008 Salute to ’38, ’39 & ’40 Fords on Saturday and to Corvette, Ferrari & BMW motorcycles with special guests George Barris and Fireball Tim Lawrence on Sunday.
Then, after the August 2009 Monterey Historics, Earle suddenly hung it up after a still-unexplained disagreement with SCRAMP, Laguna Seca's governing body.
2009 Salute to orphan cars and “Hemi” highlighted on Saturday with the dynamic Fireball Tim as grand marshal who chaired a forum of leading hot rod builders.
2010 Salute to Ford & Ferrari, and Ducati & Goldwing Motorcycles.
He allowed SCRAMP to use the Monterey Historics name for 2010, and then the vintage races were renamed the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Renuion at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
2011 Salute to Cadillac, Chevrolet “100 Years”, and Bentley automobiles and Triumph & Victory motorcycles.
2012 Salute to Chrysler & Fiat automobiles and Honda & KTM motorcycles.
2013 Featured a salute to Corvette’s “Diamond Jubilee” and Toyota/Lexus automobiles and Yamaha & Can-AM motorcycles.
The Audrain Automobile Museum was established in 2014 and has been growing exponentially since its opening.
2014 Featured, was a salute to Ford Mustang celebrating their “50 Year” Anniversary and Audi automobiles.
Fifty-five years after first charging a $1 donation entry fee, the concours has raised more than $20 million for charity, $1.9 million of it in 2014 alone.
The 2014 Pebble Beach Concours also marked the second time since Hill's Pierce-Arrow win that a post-war car earned the Best in Show award.
2015 2015 was a banner year for the Huntington Beach Concours d’Elegance 2-day event The Rod & Custom Show held on Saturday, June 6th included a wide range of rods and custom automobiles and custom motorcycles.
2016 The 31st annual Huntington Beach Concours held Saturday and Sunday, June 4th and 5th was once again a success thanks to all of our sponsors, entrants, vendors and the attendance of the general public.

He is a Concours d'Elegance judge (for 2016, in the "Fiats with trick bodywork" category) and is on the organizing committee for the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion.
