Job Description BCRTA WORK+ PROGRAM The BCRTA Work+ Program was created to enable committed part-time employees to balance work with the pursuit of an undergraduate college degree. Under the BCRTA Work+ Program, Butler County Regional Transit Authority (BCRTA) agrees to pay for eligible part-time employees' Qualified Educational Expenses. Participants must be vetted through Miami University Regionals and BCRTA to be eligible to be employed under this agreement. Qualified employees are employed on a part-time basis for at least 20 hours per week and enrolled in at least 12 credit hours at the start of a semester. Hourly rate for this position: $13.50 The MU Work+ Procurement Assistant position supports the Procurement & Compliance Specialist executing entry-level procurement tasks and other administrative duties to facilitate smooth and efficient procurement operations at Butler County Regional Transit Authority. Responsibilities include processing requisitions and Purchase Orders, vendor communication, procurement file record-keeping and external reporting. Works under supervision, exercising limited initiative and independent judgment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION Communicates with staff and vendors by phone, by email, and by other written means to confer regarding status of procurements Perform a wide variety of administrative office work with limited supervision, on a continuous basis; compose general correspondence and letters. Compile and maintain procurement records and files. Assist with small purchase planning processes including, but not limited to, processing submitted requisitions, maintaining written procurement history. Conduct due diligence research on vendors to determine eligibility for award, including contacting references; documenting all due diligence to report to the Procurement & Compliance Specialist Ensure that contract files are complete and compliant with BCRTA, State and FTA audit requirements Perform all duties in accordance with internal Procurement Guidelines templates Perform additional duties as assigned by Procurement and Compliance Specialist Assist management with special projects, if needed. Maintain composure and act thoughtfully under pressure.
