AT A GLANCE:
Broad River Retail is currently seeking a Loss Prevention Agent to join our Loss Prevention Team, under the People Department. This position is responsible for protecting company assets, reducing shrink, investigating theft and/or fraud, and ensuring compliance with company policies in our distribution centers, retail stores, and corporate offices. This role requires a proactive presence, strong analytical skills, and a collaborative spirit.
DAY IN THE LIFE AS THIS MEMORY MAKER:
Be present during daily loadout in the warehouse to maintain control of damage and loss of product.
Conduct internal and external theft investigations including interviews, surveillance reviews, and report preparation.
Monitor CCTV systems and regularly conduct security walkthroughs in assigned distribution center.
Serve as local point of contact for the Operations team and provide conflict management, as needed, when a product is damaged or missing.
Work and coordinate with relevant stakeholders including Operations, Retail, Risk, and People to resolve incidents and implement corrective actions.
Facilitate safety audits, incident investigations, and assist in implementing the designated solutions to prevent injury and/or damage to property. Provide status updates to the Manager of Loss Prevention and People Operations leadership.
Coordinate with the Manager of Loss Prevention to ensure safety controls are met and followed in the Distribution Center, stores, and corporate office.
Coordinate with General Managers to ensure that safety and security procedures and practices are followed in the retail environment.
Support safety audits and compliance with OSHA and company standards.
Coach Distribution Center teams and Retail Operations teams on loss prevention, safety, and compliance practices.
Coordinate with the Senior Risk and Compliance Partner, Associate Director of People Operations, and law enforcement as needed for incidents and/or asset recovery.
Champion a positive safety culture in both the regional store(s) and Distribution Center(s).
Performs all other duties as assigned by the Manager of Loss Prevention.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
High School Diploma or GED
2 or more years of experience in retail, loss prevention, security, military, or law enforcement
Understanding of basic office applications including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Ability to navigate security camera systems (CCTV)
First Aid/CPR/AED certification preferred
OSHA-10/30 certification a plus
Spanish speaking is a plus
Able to be flexible with hours
WORKPLACE ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is:
Regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch on concrete flooring.
Must be able to routinely lift or move objects up to 50 pounds alone and team lift objects over 50 pounds.
Wear the proper PPE when handling chemicals.
Working in a non-climate-controlled warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday.

Qualifications
As a condition of employment for accepting this position, you may be required to serve a 2-year trial period during which we will evaluate your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest. It is a physical fitness assessment which consists of four components (push-ups, sit-ups, Illinois Agility Run and a 1.5 Mile Run). General Medical Requirements: As determined by OPM the duties of this position require moderate to arduous physical exertion involving walking and standing, use of firearms, and exposure to inclement weather. Manual dexterity with comparatively free motion of fingers, wrist, elbows, shoulders, hips and knee joints is required. Arms, hands, legs and feet must function sufficiently in order for applicants to perform the duties satisfactorily.

* Recruitment Incentive: Applicants may be eligible for a $40,000 recruitment incentive in accordance with regulatory requirements. The first installment of $15,000 will be paid following successful completion of Secret Service Criminal Investigator training. A second installment of $10,000 will be paid following one year of service post training and an acceptable performance rating. The final installment of $15,000 will be paid after a third year of service post training and an acceptable performance rating. Provision of these payments require the execution of a three-year Continued Service Agreement (CSA) with the agency. Newly hired employees who resign from the USSS prior to the expiration of the CSA will be required to repay the recruitment incentive. (NOTE: Eligibility is limited to "Newly appointed" Federal employees as defined by 5 CFR 575.102).
Applicants selected for this position will be required to sign a CSA before being assigned to an initial training class. The CSA will commit the applicant to a specified period of employment with the Secret Service upon the successful completion of training.

NATURE OF WORK

NATURE OF WORK
Positions in this classification are responsible for general duty and investigator police work. WORK ENVIRONMENT

DENTAL: Currently, the City offers two Benefit Dental Plans. One is through Washington Dental Service and the other is Willamette Dental. The City pays for the employees premium and the employee pays for their spouse and dependents if they choose that coverage.
VISION: Provided by VSP.
AFLAC: The City offers its employees the opportunity to purchase AFLAC products through a payroll deduction plan. The entire cost is paid by the employee.
RETIREMENT: All retirement plans are through the State of Washington Department of Retirement Systems (DRS)
o Law Enforcement Officers and Fire Fighters Retirement System (LEOFF) Plan 2 is a
lifetime retirement pension plan available to law enforcement officers and firefighters in
Washington.
o Employees have available a Deferred Compensation Program (DCP). Contributions may
be made by the employee to the Plan and deducted from the employees paycheck.
HRA VEBA: The City offers to pay $425.00 monthly toward dependent Medical or Dental coveragethrough the VEBA program. If the employee does not have dependent coverage, then the money is put into a VEBA account also on a monthly basis. If the employee wants reimbursement for medical co-pays, dental costs, optical costs, prescriptions or dependent premiums paid by their spouse, they may submit receipts to VEBA for the reimbursement. The employee may leave these monies in the account and use it in the future for retirement purposes.
GROUP LIFE INSURANCE STANDARD INSURANCE: The City pays for a $10,000.00 life insurance policy for each employee. The employee may choose to increase this amount for additional coverage. Any premium amount for coverage above the $10,000 is taken as a payroll deduction form the employees monthly paycheck.
VACATION TIME: Employees will receive the following vacation benefit per year:
Year 1-4 = 8 hours/month
Year 5-10 = 11 hours/month
Year 11-15 = 13 hours/month
Year 16 and after = 15 hours/month
SICK LEAVE: Employees will accrue 10 hours of sick leave every month.
PAID HOLIDAYS: The city offers 11 paid holidays and 4 personal holidays!
