David Z. Abel loved the "Art of the Deal" and in 1978 he partnered with a friend to share in a small flea market booth to sell various items.
By 1989, Dave’s Stereo, now DAS, had become a national distributor, with three warehouse facilities in the northeast and five sales offices spanning the country employing 150 associates.
In 1992, the economy crashed and left DAS to drastically downsize to one office and one warehouse, and painfully reduce staff by 40% to survive.
