Job Description
This position is contingent upon award
International Health and Medical Services is looking for an experienced Advanced Practice Provider to deliver high-quality medical care, including assessments, diagnosis, and treatment planning for individuals with a variety of health concerns. This role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care, patient advocacy, and adherence to regulatory standards within the facility.
Adheres to the Advanced Practice Provider Collaborative Practice and Prescriptive Authority Agreement.
Works as part of an integrated health care team to provide acute, emergent, and chronic health care to patients in compliance with policy and guidance and accreditation standards.
Performs comprehensive history and physical evaluations, behavioral health care, and minor outpatient surgical procedures for detainees as required by the medical condition.
Demonstrates appropriate application of clinical knowledge within documented treatment plans, prescriptions, and provides treatment throughout the life span as appropriate to discipline and facility setting.
Demonstrates appropriate application of clinical knowledge within documented lab diagnostic ordering and interpretation, medication prescribing practices, referrals to consultants, follow-up after hospitalization or consultation.
Participates in and complies with court ordered treatment plans to include evaluation and treatment of patients with psychiatric illness or life-threatening conditions including hunger strike.
Provides full spectrum of age and gender specific health care to include treatment of gender dysphoria and pregnancy.
Consults with the staff physician, clinical director, and consultants as required by policy and for complex medical and/or psychiatric patients.
Provides infirmary care including admission, discharge, and daily rounds for patients that require higher level of care and monitoring.
Coordinates health care needs of patients including referrals to off-site consultants.
Interprets Tuberculin skin tests and diagnostic studies, manages Direct Observation Therapy for treatment of active or latent tuberculosis.
Takes appropriate infection control actions in accordance with IHSC policy and guidance.
Adheres to universal precautions and properly disposes of all sharps and infectious waste.
Provides relevant patient health education to detainees verbally and/or with handouts.

Qualifications
Basic Requirements/Certifications:
Must have and maintain an unrestricted and current license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant issued by state licensing authority in the state where services are performed.
One-year full-time equivalent of experience in primary care as a licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. Clinical experience must be current and within the past five years.
Must have and maintain unrestricted license to prescribe controlled medications from the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA).
Experience in a detention, correctional or residential healthcare setting (preferred, not required).
Basic Life Support (BLS) required. If not American Heart Association (AHA) certified, must be within first year.
Physician Assistant (PA) -
Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program located in a State, the District of Columbia, or a U.S. territory. Must be accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or one of its predecessors. The degree issuing institution and/or program must be accredited by an entity recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

Nurse Practitioner (NP) -

Providing Home Visiting services to 15 28 families depending on the intensity of need and frequency of visits
PRODUCTIVITY
The Home Visiting Service Provider will achieve the expected 100% productivity performance goal set by MECA Management.
The Home Visiting Service Provider will see each family assigned one time per month for a minimum of 90 minutes
DOCUMENTATION
The Home Visiting Service Provider will accurately collect data on persons served and will ensure that the information is accurate and filed in a timely manner by adhering to the following:
Documenting therapy sessions and progress
Documentation to occur at the time of visit and entered into CYFD database within 24 hours of visit.
Print all Data Assessment Plan (DAP) notes and place in childs file within 24 hours of visit
STAFF DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING
The Home Visiting Service Provider will provide the necessary support, training, and guidance in their provision of services to the families served. The Home Visiting Service Provider must also comply with all mandatory trainings identified by the Early Childhood Education and Care Department (ECECD) as well trainings mandated by their respective supervisor(s) and/or company by adhering to the following:
Consulting and providing in-house trainings to other staff members
Obtaining Infant Mental Health (IMH) Certification within 2 years of hire
Attending mandatory staff meetings and trainings
Completing professional development self-assessment to help identify strengths and areas where additional training and support are needed
Completing Professional Development Plan within 2 weeks of hire
SUPERVISION
All Home Visiting Service Providers, including sub-contractors must receive reflective supervision at least two times a month.
Scheduling supervision at minimum two times a month with Clinical Reflective Supervisor
Attending a minimum of one case consultation per month with ECECD
QUALITY ASSURANCE
The Home Visiting Service Provider will maintain quality services for the persons served by adhering to the following:
Ensuring that families served have a clear understanding of their rights
Acknowledging and respecting the rights of families served at all times
Ensuring all HV activities are ethical and in compliance with MECA policies and procedures

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) V, Home Supervisor, performs highly advanced (senior level) work overseeing the daily operations and delivery of quality programs and services provided on the assigned home at the State Supported Living Center (SSLC). Arranges work schedules to ensure adequate supervision/coverage based upon levels of supervision and levels of directcare of individuals served. Provides leadership to, and plans, assigns and supervises the activities of DSPs on the home. Performs supervisory functions such as hiring, training, coaching, time and leave accounting, and promoting professional growth. Models for and coaches DSP IV "Charge" staff to build their supervisory and leadership skills, and ensures they effectively monitor habilitation, behavior management, crisis intervention, mealtime coordination, and other plans for each shift. Ensures that care, treatment, training, and support activities are completed and documented, in collaboration with other disciplines. Provides consultation, guidance, and support to staff to build capacity for working with individuals who exhibit challenging behaviors. Maintains a physical presence on the home to ensure safe and sanitary living conditions, proper infection control practices, attention to health care needs, adherence to risk management protocols, and an optimal quality of life for the individuals. Ensures the reporting and proper documentation of unusual incidents. Ensures staff in the assigned home are engaged in continuous quality improvement. Essential Job Functions (EJFs):

Oversees the daily operations and delivery of quality programs and services provided on the assigned home. Makes daily adjustments to ensure coverage of the home, collaborating with other DSP Vs for the best interest of the SSLC as a whole.
Provides leadership to, and plans, assigns and supervises the activities of DSPs on the home. Hires, trains, and promotes professional growth of assigned DSPs so that a competent workforce is maintained. Ensures that all assigned staff are compliant in training per agency and facility standards. Reviews essential job functions, performance expectations, coaches job performance, and provides supportive and constructive feedback. Conducts performance evaluations of assigned staff to give employees timely feedback on their performance and oversees staff development plans and activities. Ensures all staff are entering their time accurately into the CAPPS system to reflect leave earned/taken, reviewing and approving entries, as well as ensuring all direct reports certify their time entries on a monthly basis. Takes action to improve employee retention and reduce turnover.
Trains and utilizes DSP IV "Charge" staff effectively to manage each shift. Ensures the DSP IV "Charge" effectively monitors habilitation, behavior management, crisis intervention, mealtime coordination, and other plans. Models for and coaches DSP IV "Charge" staff to build their supervisory and leadership skills. Models how to teach and assist individuals with carrying out and documenting program plans, including using the electronic health record or other documentation system(s).
Ensures that care, treatment, training, and support activities are completed and documented on the assigned home according to individual plans. Ensures sufficient active treatment/engagement materials are always available for the individuals' safe and therapeutic use. Works collaboratively with other staff assigned to the home such as in the areas of QIDP services, behavioral health, and active treatment/vocational services to ensure integrated services and programming. Attends Interdisciplinary Team Meetings (IDTs) and participates in the development and implementation of individuals' plans. Ensures Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) understand and are adequately trained to implement the plans.
Provides consultation, guidance, and support to staff to build capacity for working with individuals who exhibit challenging behaviors. Provides behavioral intervention strategies to ensure that individuals are protected from harm or injury and appropriately manages aggressive behavior between individuals. Models how to work with individuals who have complex needs and who exhibit aggressive and/or self-injurious behaviors. Guides staff to adapt to changing populations and needs and develops and implements strategies to meet those needs.
Ensures proper management and supervision of staff and their assigned duties to ensure that individuals are free from physical and emotional harm. Ensures ongoing and respectful interaction between the staff and the individuals. Maintains a physical presence on the home to ensure optimal quality of life for the individuals. Supervises monitors and documents the activities of DSPs. Praises staff for positive performance, creating an environment where staff feel safe to ask for help and guidance, while intervening to correct mistakes in real time when necessary.
Ensures the health care needs of individuals are met, under the supervision of medical personnel. Administers first aid to individuals as appropriate. Conducts emergency drills on a monthly basis, such as CPR drills, fire drills, ensuring all staff know their role in a true emergency. Reports and ensures DSPs report significant changes in individuals' physical conditions and/or behavior to designated personnel.
Ensures that the home is maintained as a safe and sanitary living environment for individuals. Ensures infection control and risk management policies and procedures are correctly implemented. Ensures that individuals' environment is free of safety hazards by correcting and reporting hazards, entering work orders for maintenance issues, and teaching and overseeing others to do the same.
Ensures the assigned home is engaged in continuous quality improvement and compliance with the Department of Justice Settlement Agreement. Oversees and ensures the reporting of unusual incidents such as fires, abuse of individuals, injuries, and unauthorized departures. Review documentation following significant events. Identifies areas of needed change and makes recommendations to improve operations to the Unit Director.
Provides guidance and assistance to DSP staff to understand and implement program procedures, policies, and laws, such as the Texas Administrative Code (TAC). Ensures proper procedures are followed in Abuse & Neglect investigations, and follow-up assignments are completed in a timely manner for any administrative concerns identified in such investigations. Ensures that identified issues are responded to promptly. Ensures proper supports are put in place as directed.
Attends routine meetings such as scheduling meetings, morning unit/home meetings and staff meetings and follows up with issues generated from meetings. Prepares required reports and other documentation. Attends other meetings, serves on committee, and performs other specific tasks, such as providing assistance in transporting of individuals going on scheduled activities and in emergency situations when directed by the Assistant Unit Director/Unit Director or other SSLC Leadership. Serves as the Assistant Unit Director/Unit Director in his/her absence, as assigned.
Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency's obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location.

Job Summary
PetSmart's Pet Stylist in Training is responsible for engaging with pet parents and their pets while providing positive experiences and best in class salon services. This position will receive training and guidance from our experienced Professional Styling teams, learning from the best in the industry on proper grooming techniques. This position is also responsible for upholding the company's vision, mission, values, and strategy. This role also shares responsibility of store cleanliness, recommending of solutions for pet parents, and pet safety standards.
Pet Stylist in Training role is obtained once the associate has successfully completed the PetSmart Grooming Academy.
Essential Responsibilities
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following and may vary depending on store characteristics and needs:
* While under supervision, performs full menu of bath, brush and grooming services and standalone services, such as nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary services in accordance with PetSmart's bathing standards and procedures.
* Develop and display safe technical skills that will meet or exceed the company's minimum expectations.
* Recommends additional health and wellness solutions with Pet Parents based on pet's needs.
* Responsible for the pet parent experience and outcomes conducted in person, over the phone and at the sales register.
* Greets pet parents, answers their questions, and assists with making reservations in the salon.
* Conducts salon appointment reminder calls, maintains client records and consults with pet parents on services offered.
* Performs check-in and check-out procedures for grooming appointments, including applicable paperwork and rebooking.
* Promotes opportunities to grow salon sales to help achieve sales targets and productivity, and any other relevant salon metrics.
* Recommends, informs, and sells merchandise and services.
* Maintains the highest level of cleanliness, sanitation, and humane conditions for all pets in the grooming area, by performing maintenance throughout the day including end of day cleaning in accordance with the maintenance checklist.
* Responsible for taking immediate action when a sick/injured pet is identified in the store; transport to the vet as needed.
* Assists and works in other departments as required. Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications
* Successful completion of PetSmart's Salon Academy training and safety certification program.
* Prior grooming experience preferred; may be asked to complete a technical exam.
* Proficiency in computer applications.
* Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
* Flexibility in schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and safety measures.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Essential physical demands and work environment
* Associate required to stand, walk, climb a ladder, and use hands to handle, feel, hold, write, etc. The associate frequently is required to reach with hands and arms: stoop, kneel, crouch, talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include depth perception. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
* Associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally team lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include depth perception.
* While performing the duties of this job, the associate is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, as well as a wet environment with an abundance of pet hair. The noise level is moderate in the work environment; however, associates may be exposed to high levels of noise at times. Exposure to live animals and their handling is common.
