1910

After Japan annexed the country in 1910, Koreans experienced a campaign of cultural erasure and material extraction that sought to oppress their heritage in all aspects of daily life, extending to land ownership, language, food and clothing.

1984

Henry D. Jacobs, Jr., founded the company in 1984 as a North Carolina corporation under the name J. K. Apparel, Inc.

The company opened its first store in 1984.

1987

After changing the company to a South Carolina corporation named One Price Clothing Stores, Inc., Jacobs ultimately incorporated in Delaware in April 1987.

1990

From its beginnings as a one-woman home operation in 1990, LeeHwa has survived through challenging moments: the Los Angeles riots, the Northridge earthquake and, most recently, closures because of the pandemic.

In 1990, the company registered "One Price" as a trademark with the United States Office of Patents and Trademarks.

1993

In 1993 the company expanded the corporate offices by 28,000 square feet.

By 1993, the company operated more than 500 stores, each selling merchandise for seven dollars.

1997

One Price Clothing Stores even planned to expand its merchandising mix starting in 1997.

2004

Michael Gleissner, a German entrepreneur founded and established the channel and its parent company, Miami Beach, Florida-based Bigfoot Entertainment, in 2004.
