Your role and responsibilities:
Work on-site with customers to identify opportunities for operational improvement and eliminate pain points.
Perform fieldservice tasks, including identifying technical issues and conducting certified on-site troubleshooting.
Prepare material lists for service activities, ensuring all materials, parts, and equipment meet quality standards and are available.
Execute installation and commissioning, maintenance, repairs, extensions, upgrades, retrofits, end-of-life services, and replacements.
Build and maintain positive customer relationships to enhance satisfaction. Identify potential new sales opportunities while addressing customer needs and communicate them internally.
Proactively detect potential equipment failures and recommend corrective actions. Identify and suggest product and quality improvements.
Provide recommendations to management for improving operations and customer service. Follow safety protocols and maintain safe work and environmental practices. Report unsafe practices and incidents promptly.
Qualifications for the role:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology with 1+ years' experience servicing critical power equipment OR Associates Degree in electrical technology with 3+ years' experience servicing critical power equipment OR High School Diploma/GED and equivalent work and/or military experience (5+ years) servicing critical power equipment.
Advanced level ability to interact and communicate (written and verbal) information to varying levels within the organization.
Advanced level of ability to use Microsoft Office products.
Moderate ability to Project Manage using MS Project or Excel.
Advanced ability to write test plans and reports detailing test results.
Advanced ability to stay organized and meet deadlines on administrative duties.

Summary:

Essential Functions:

Exercise discretion to identify whether repairs are needed and, if so, what repairs to make.

**Key Responsibilities:**
**1. Technical Support for Global Opportunities**
+ Serve as the technical authority for VCM technologies to provide expert technical guidance to world area teams pursuing new VCM opportunities.
+ Assist in solution design, proposal development, and customer presentations to ensure alignment with service capabilities and customer needs.
+ Act as a technical liaison between regional teams and central engineering, software development, and support resources.
+ Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal quality protocols during service implementation.
**2. Service Sustainment & Troubleshooting**
+ Act as the primary technical contact for world area VCM teams, providing expert guidance, troubleshooting, and resolution of VCM-related issues.
+ Diagnose and resolve technical issues affecting existing VCM contracts to maintain service continuity and performance.
+ Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for system failures, data collection anomalies, or connectivity issues.
+ Collaborate with fieldservice and support teams across various Emerson groups to ensure timely resolution and customer satisfaction.
+ Conduct training sessions and workshops for world area VCM teams on systems configurations and maintenance best practices.
+ Translate complex technical findings into actionable insights for world area VCM teams, enhancing operational excellence.
+ Develop and maintain documentation, including service manuals, troubleshooting guides, Functional Design Specifications, and FAQs.
+ Identify recurring issues and lead root cause analysis efforts to implement long-term solutions.
**3. Development & Deployment of Online Data Collection Solutions**
+ Lead the review, design, and implementation of secure online data collection models using Purdue Enterprise Reference Architecture (PERA) and Data Diode solutions for Industrial Control Systems.
+ Work closely with cybersecurity, IT, and engineering teams to ensure compliance with data protection standards and operational integrity.
+ Drive innovation in remote monitoring capabilities to enhance service scalability and responsiveness.
**4. Ownership of VCM Implementation Process**
+ Define, document, and continuously improve the end-to-end VCM implementation process.
+ Ensure consistent execution across projects, including planning, installation, commissioning, and validation.
+ Develop and/or recommend tools, training materials, process guides, and best practices to support global deployment teams.

POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Area Service Manager, the Field Technical Engineer is responsible for performing OEM service and installations of medical devices. Performs skilled technical work in the repair, preventative maintenance and upgrades of OEM medical devices or systems. Documents and maintains accurate records of inspections, repairs, calibrations and work performed on all equipment. Must be proficient on either Bone Mineral Densitometry (BMD) or Ultrasound (UL) equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the installation and service of OEM medical devices which will include electrical, mechanical and software components.
Complete scheduled preventive maintenance, unplanned maintenance and perform any required equipment upgrades.
Establish and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through service excellence.
Ensure accurate and timely completion of records of all installations and deinstallations, repairs and maintenance and of all regulatory compliance paperwork.
Train customers on basic operation and use of medical devices.
Manage inventory, keep accurate records, and return unused and failed parts promptly.
Perform PM's on time, provide expeditious on-site response and minimize equipment downtime.
Respond to customer inquiries in written form (with managerial approval), in person, or via telephone as needed.
Escalate customer issues and unresolved product problems to service management in a comprehensive and timely manner.
Promote service contract offerings and assist Sales in selling service agreements to customers within your assigned territory
Provide on-call service coverage on a rotating basis, as needed.
