LaRita also previously served as Vice President of Small Business and Area Councils for the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce, and Founding Director of the Internship Program at Queens University. A native Charlottean, LaRita has served on a number of community boards, including the Arts & Science Council Board of Directors, CPCC Education Foundation, Goodwill Industries Board of Directors and wells Fargo Champions for Education Board of Directors. She is currently active as a member of Johnson C. Smith University Board of Visitors and Women Executives.Barber received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications from UNC Chapel Hill and her Master’s Degree in Public Administration from UNC Charlotte.
