This position will play a critical role in advancing the Preservation of the Forces and Family (POTFF) program, which is dedicated to optimizing and sustaining the mission readiness, longevity, and performance of Special Operations Forces (SOF). Through integrated and holistic human performance initiatives, POTFF strengthens both the Forces and their families, ensuring comprehensive support for those who serve. As a Strength and Conditioning Specialist, you will contribute to impactful research and analytics that drive evidence-based decision-making and enhance the effectiveness of these vital programs. This position establishes and administers strength and conditioning protocols to optimize the physical performance of SOF personnel, prioritizing safe and effective training and rehabilitation in coordination with the Human Performance (HP) program. The Strength and Conditioning Specialist designs, implements, evaluates, and documents individualized physical training programs, provides expert instruction on exercise techniques and injury prevention, and ensures all personnel with new or undiagnosed medical conditions are referred to appropriate medical providers. Additionally, the role supports administrative functions, participates in ongoing staff training and meetings, maintains facility safety and equipment standards, and collects and reports program data in accordance with USSOCOM HQ and POTFF requirements. **Responsibilities** + Establish and administer effective strength and conditioning protocols designed to maximize the physical performance of SOF personnel, with priority on SOF Operators and Direct Combat Support personnel + Provide and perform the following services in support of POTFF's HP program for SOF personnel, with priority on SOF Operators and Direct Combat Support personnel: + Design, administer, evaluate, and document the effects of physical training protocols under the supervision of the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator + Coordinate training programs with HP staff to ensure a safe and expeditious return to training of SOF personnel recovering from injury + Design and implement physical training programs for personnel who are TDY/TAD or deployed under the supervision of the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator + Demonstrate and provide instruction and guidance on physical training, exercises, movements, and injury avoidance + Refer all personnel with a new or undiagnosed medical condition to a medical provider for evaluation and treatment + Assist the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator in developing facility standard operating procedures, guidelines, and training protocols including the safe use of strength and conditioning equipment + Participate in periodic meetings to review and evaluate physical training programs and identify opportunities for improvement. Prevocational Services Prevocational Services are individually designed to prepare a youth (age 14 or older) to engage in paid work, volunteer work or career exploration. Prevocational Services are not job-specific, but rather are geared toward facilitating success in any work environment for youth whose disabilities do not permit them access to other prevocational services. The service will be reflected in youth's plan of care and must be directed to teaching skills rather than explicit employment objectives. In addition, Prevocational Services assist with facilitating appropriate work habits, acceptable job behaviors, and learning job production requirements. Respite This service focuses on short-term assistance and/or relief for children/youth with disabilities (developmental, physical and/or behavioral), and family/caregivers which can be provided in a planned mode or delivered in a crisis environment. Planned respite services provide planned short-term relief for family/caregivers that are needed to enhance the family/caregiver's ability to support the child/youth's functional, mental health/substance use disorder and/or health care issues. The service is direct care for the child/youth by staff trained to support the child/youth's needs while providing relief from caregiver activities for the family/caregiver. This may occur in short-term increments of time (usually during the day) or on an overnight or longer-term increment. Planned Respite Services support the plan of care goals. Planned Respite activities include providing supervision and recreational activities that match the child/youth's developmental stage and continue to maintain the participant's health and safety. Crisis Respite is a short-term care and intervention strategy for children/youth and their families as a result of a child's mental health/substance use crisis event, medical crisis or trauma that creates a risk for an escalation of symptoms without supports and/or loss of functioning. It may be used when acutely challenging emotional or medical crisis occur which the child/youth is unable to manage without intensive assistance and support. The need for Crisis Respite may be identified as a result of crisis intervention or may come from referrals from the emergency room, the community, LDSS/LGU/SPOA, school, self-referrals, Care Manager referrals, or as part of a step-down plan from an inpatient setting.     LifeGuard - Minimum eligibility for a Lifeguard is 15 years old as of May 15th. All lifeguards MUST have Red Cross LGT certification and must pass a level 2 fingerprint screening (varies by location) as well as a drug screening as part of the hiring process. Ensure the safety of all the guests in the facility by continuously monitoring the pool and surrounding deck to prevent accidents, by observing patron activities and eliminating hazardous situations. Enforce pool rules and regulations in a firm but fair manner to ensure the safety and order of the aquatic facility. Conduct periodic patrols of the locker room area, eating area, and around the park ensure everyone is ok. Clean restrooms, locker rooms, eating area, and pool deck, chairs and other cleaning duties as needed. Maintain the lifeguard equipment by keeping it neat, organized, and in working condition for daily operations. Inspect pool facilities and equipment to ensure they are safe and usable for patrons. Respond quickly to emergencies by performing rescues, administering first aid, CPR, and using an AED as needed Participate in ongoing in-service training, drills, and maintain physical fitness to ensure skills are sharp and up to date. Possess good teamwork skills and initiative to work both independently and with a team. *Holidays are mandatory as this position is seasonal.
